Hi guys, heard about this site and wanted to see if any of you could give me a little help. I just got a Dell Pocket DJ for Christman and already had a pair of SonyEX-51. From reading here it seems the sony 51 are the same as sony 71 which a lot of you guys have and seem to say have poor highs. With this in mind, my Dell has an EQ with custom settings for 100 800 3K & 12K HZs, what might be good settings for these to complement the Sony ex51s? Also, would Shure E2Cs be a worthy upgrade, or not worth it? And finally, how can I make the highest quality mp3s easily with the ones already on my computer and any future ones I may have? THANKY YOU ALL!!

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

You can't really make high quality mp3s out of other mp3s. You'd need to encode from CD or WAV to high bitrate mp3s/ogg/whatever (or lossless) for really good sound.

Ive found a 5db boost at 3200Hz and a 3db cut at 12000Hz helps bring out the mids and recess the highs.
From there boost/cut the bass to taste.

I wouldn't call the E2s an upgrade to the EX71s. For an upgrade try the Ety 6i's.

I'd definitely call the E2c's an upgrade from the EX71. Here's a comparative review. http://www5.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43756
(and I've got to fix those links...)

A head-fier accurately described them as listening to music behind 3 feet of concrete. So only the boomy bass and the shrill highs get through with the mids and all detail completely killed.
I never heard the E2, but upgraded from the EX71 to the E3 and it is a major jump into the audiophile category. I was initially disappointed and had to upgrade my source to get more sound stage not to mention retrain my ear since after listening to the EX71 and EX70 and EX51 before them, my ear got so used to the shrillness and electric, un natural sound, with so much bass, even female voices sounded bassy, it was painful to listen to something quite the opposite.
In anycase, I'm sure the E2 are a worthy upgrade if you are for more accuracy and more neutral sound and willing to put up with less comfort. The Ety ER6i mentioned have virtually no bass impact so I dont think you will be happy with them coming from the EX71, while sure they have more detail than the E2, they are 3 times the price
