newb needs help choosing

Thread Starter
hey guys,

my current pair of audio-technica ath-f55's are starting to die (sound cuts in and out of left channel with fiddling of cord).

i'm looking for a set of cans for home use. i think from now on, i'm just going to use a crappy set for portable use.

i'll be watching dvds and playing games on my computer (soundblaster live + livedrive), and listening to music on my sony mhc-gx450.

i listen mainly to rock and rap... so...bass is good.
ive always liked the closed phones, but am open to any suggestions.
looking to spend 100-150 tops.

Might need an amp running from your sound card. Depends on how good the headphone circuit is. Should run fine from your HT receiver.
