Porta Pro2 had too much bass, how about the Senn PX100?

Hi. I just returned a pair of Koss Porta Pro2 because I found that they had too much bass for my taste.

For at least a day I was in denial about this because I wanted to be happy about my purchase, but in the end, I could not deny the fatigue I got from the constant, unbalanced bass response.

Now, I'm considering the Sennheiser PX-100. Does this headphone have a heavy, fatiguing bass response also? I'd give anything to avoid the tortuous thump thump of an unnaturally, heavy bass. What are your views?

The PX100 aren't as bassy as the Koss, it still is dark sounding though.

dont know about the pp2, but comparing to the pp its not as bassy and more balanced, but still is bassy in my book.

I can't tell how you are using the headphones since your profile doesn't list any gear. But the Koss 60-lineup (Portapro, PP2, Sportapro, KSC35/50/55) is best used portably (like the names imply), as in outside, noiser environments. This is because there is, in fact, a bass bump that serves a purpose. That purpose is to attenuate external sounds a bit so that you can listen to the music without turning it up too loud, and still be able to hear important external aural cues (you know, like people yelling, car horns, sirens, subway announcements, machinery, etc.) when necessary. In such places, the bass-hump almost disappears. It sort of cancels out with all the other lower-level external stuff going on. For me it works.

Critical listener cans, in quiet environments they are not. But critical to my headphone stable for their suited purpose, they are.
