I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

Upgrading to the MS2/sr-325 would be going up. Dif. between Aless & grado? Aless is a less colored, less in your face, slightly more balanced grado. Not as "fun" in comparison (but holds its own nonetheless), but only relative to steretypical grados, which are usually "too" fun and agressive.
BTW, you amping your sr-225s? If not, it'd be good idea to.

I upgraded my SR-225 and went for the Alessandro MS-2's. Everything I disliked about the 225's seemed to get cleaned up by the MS-2's. Even with flats on my 225's, I found that the sound was too bright for my liking. The MS-2 has the perfect sonic quality for my tastes. The bass is tighter and punchier and the highs are not distorted. I found that female singers especially hurt my ears with the 225's and that is fixed. I find I can listen to the MS-2's for longer because of the less aggressive sound. And don't get me wrong, it is aggressive. I would agree that the MS-2's provide a much more unbiased sound. It really depends on what you liked/disliked about your Sr-225's. And, do you want to stay within the Grado family?

yes i have my 225's amped on a pimeta w/ opa627.
it's a good question, i like my 225's but i'm wondering if there are any headphones generally speaking that you could say are so much better or would any upgrade be just a slight change that you have to study to notice.
