Do Sennheiser HD 212 pro's cancel sound?

Hi,
I was looking for a pair of sound cancelling headphones for around $30 - $50. I came upon the hd 12 pro's and thought they looke pretty good for the money. I know they are not listed as sound cancelling headphones, but do they cancel as much sound as other sound cancelling headphones? Does anybody have other sound cancelling headphones for around that price?

They're not sound cancelling. I think they're closed, so they'll stop a bit of outside noise getting in, but not so much as bigger headphones.

Hi,
I own a pair of those. They actually isolate pretty well. Not as well as, say, a pair of Bose QuietComfort II's, but you're talking about a $40 headphone vs. a $300 headphone there.

They're not a bad pair of headphones for the money...I like them a lot.

Hi ,

I also own a pair hd212pro and i also like those. The isolation is good , the bass response is heavy so if u like the bass u´ll love them if u dont like bass u´ll think it´s 2 much bass...

The sound is pretty nice althought i dont use a EQ for those (which i really need on some other headphones...).

You should just hear them once before u bought them , then u can say if u like them or not.

If you go to HeadRoom they have descriptions of a good number of headphones. You can then find out, what is closed, semi-open, open, noise cancelling and earphones that isolate better than noise cancelling phones!

you can also search the site here to find a wealth of information on headphones, amps, cables, tweaks and a myriad of other "audio quests".

Best advice is to try out different headphones in stpres or buy with option to return what you don't like. Experience is essential. Everyone's experience is unique to them . Although people will give you suggestions, you are the one who needs to make the decision and take responsibility for yourself and your purchase. You'll also be much, much, much, much happier when you check out the headphones yourself and find that what you like might not be what many people on this forum find to be "the best"!

Feed your head and then decide.
