Hey, you could even grow to love its dull angular looks and tiny capacity
I understand what you are saying. But the Zen Micro has features like FM Radio, pocketable size, removable battery, touch pad etc. Not every player in the same price range has those features.

And bigger capacity doesn't mean better. For example, the Mazda Miata has a smaller engine and itself a smaller car than the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry, but they are in the same price range over here in Canada! Have the Miata owners been ripped off?

Well, stop yelling.

Second, was it a tight fit in the altoids tin can? I bet that caused the crack.

no, it wasnt, but i kept it in there for like two seconds! and it shouldnt cause a crack in hard plastic

i have a question- can i use the warranty and return it and get a new one? i ordered it from amazon.com. what is the warranty? would the warranty be on the creative product or would the warranty depend on amazon??
also, if i return it, would they still send me the limited addition like i had before??

Sorry but why do you expect a new one when YOU were the one that scratched it?

Life goes on, friend. Can't be too bad with a little crack like that. It is a lesson learned and only the first of many to come (my NJB3 is all scratched up yet I'm loving it), unless you weren't planning on keeping this player for a long time.

Things like this are bound to happen, and you should be glad it happened now so you will know not to put it in the can anymore.

well mabey his can. if you pad it well like mine (lots of electical tape on the inside) you dont have to worry about it. but i do agree that you have no reason to return you player. unless you payed heavily for some kind of miniscule crack and scratch warranty.

and to the guy who just posted those pics-

thats a sick picture of the micro on top of your comp. i love the blue lighting all around the black with internal blue lighting. wicked sick

Be honest now, not trying to ruin you guys' party, but don't you feel that this thing is a bit plasticky and feels a little bit cheap?

I love its features and if not for its plasticky look, I think I would've had one in my hands now

I prefer the metal backing of the Zen Touch, but even so, I don't think the plastic feel of the Micro is bad. I think its alright, maybe it'll grow on me after a while. This thing has so many features, I wish they'd implement them into the Zen Touch, I honestly don't see why they wouldnt be able to.

have you ever seen one of these things in person? have you felt it? if not dont comment on plasticy. but if you have and still think its plasticy i dont know what to say. ya there is plastic on the back but its a really solid feeling player. if your against plastic on players you sure as hell should steer clear of the ipod. at least the plastic on the micro doesnt scratch as bad as the ipod does.
