Sov - adding me to your ignore list is probably a good idea. But I will not add you to mine because I like to read some of the crap you post
Hi Guru,

really these words are not the best for the xmas day. This thread was not bad, why this desire of war during the peace day?

Best!

What war? No war - send me Rp33 to review and I will do an unbiased job. That is what needs to be done...not what Sovkiller is doing. Proclaiming that it is the best is a wild assumption and needs to be clarified. I have no doubt about Rudi's amps because I loved the RP5. This could be an equally nice solid state amp but it needs to establish credibility...

Are you willing to take the steps necessary to do that?

Rudi sent this amp to Sov for reviewing or auditioning.

I am not saying that "I" should review it...I am saying that - there are many people who will be happy to give it a proper going over and I am one of these people.

You know me better - Nik

Nik, why are you surprised, IMO this is really understandable from him (as he cames from diferent culture and religion as us) Please don't forget that not everybody shares the same beliefs, and some of the members celebrate different holidays....

Of course that I will not mail the amp to you Guru, as I do believe that there are a lot more qualified persons to do that review, and not only a few, IMO a lot....with more knowledge and a lot more experience, and the most important thing, better intentions, but if you finally happen to listen to it by any means, just do it as you wish...period...

By the way, I never stated that this amp was/is the best thing since slice bread, just the best thing since sliced bread, among the ones I have heard, just learn how to read and understand what others write instead of trying to bash, specially while those others are not english native speakers, sorry if you do not like that, or if this include any amp that you like....it was not my intention neither...for sure.

A suggestion, you could arrange a meting with Aaron if you like to hear it, if finally he get it....if not, you will have to wait...

I hope you will hear the RP33 during a meeting in USA and than to do a complete rew.

I had the RP5, the RP6, the RP3, the RP31, the RP33... this last is THE BEST without any doubt, I'm sure that you also will say the same.

I know you and I know Al, I think that he was so happy for the experience in listening the RP33... and I can understand so well his enthusiasm!

Best!

Anyway - since you didnt buy this amp and its not yours I dont really care what you decide to do with it

I have the schematics now...Nelson Pass all the way...I'll be producing RP33 clones for around $300.00 for anyone who is interested

Sounds good..sure...and Rudi is a good man. But he chose the wrong marketing monkey

I strongly doubt that you will offer anything similar to what Rudi is offering (for $300.00 or even for the same price), but in any case, good luck!!!

Luck with the Asian made Dynahi project too, I wish you the best, honestly...

BTW Rudistor amps sell by themselves, no matter who show them, or who review them, or who has them. Once people try them, they know that what sounds good, is good...No hidden secrets, and simple as that...

From what I see of the schematics - I doubt it can hang with the new Dynahi, Headroom Max with upgrades, Prehead, HR2, Raptor et al.
Unfortunately - no disrespect to you - but your review is simply an advertisement from the looks of it. OMG OMG this amp is the best...everything else is inferior...
Tell me Sov - what other amps have you heard that allows you to make such a sweeping statement?
I am willing to put my money down and say that the RP33 cannot hang with the better amps out there...why? because this review has no balance to it and is a shameless plug IMO.
How about sending it to someone who can bring out what this amp can really do...AND what it cannot do...and how it fares when compared to amps in the similar price range.

These type of comments are a bit rough and uncalled for.
Instead of inviting a different approach to what Sovkiller is trying to portray, your are making statement that are agressive and offensive.
This is not what Head-Fi is all about.
Some of what you say is true, GS, but unless you guys have a bad history, I don't see why the words had to be so condescending and harsh.
Merry Christmas.

Please Aaron don't let the "real monkey" ruin the spirit of Xmas, I don't care of how offensive this guy could be, we are all celebrating this holidays, in family, in peace, and happy, right now I'm having a cup of a nice wine, before going for a nice lunch...And listening the RP33, having a real nice audition. OTOH you will have the pleasure of hearing it pretty soon.....

And BTW and sorry to disagree a little bit with you, but I don't see anything on what he had stated to be true, (maybe the Nelson Pass stuff, and I'm not even sure of that neither, I'm not a DIYer, nor a knowledgeable guy in electronics to state that, and Rudi had never stated such thing to me neither) But "just for the records", and the same way as while I was stating my impressions on the RP31, and he did the same BS, I had never stated the RP33 as the best amp in the planet, just the best of the ones I have heard, which is 100% true (and not even that, I have not heard my new PPA yet, it is on the way to me.....)
OTOH, I do consider that there are a lot of nice old members, more qualified that this guy, to review the RP33, and whatever he said after on, based on those assumptions above, was absolutely uncalled for, and wrong...period...but the intelligence and tact, you need to be prudent in life, are virtues that not everybody has, what can we do about that?....OTOH the arrogance is a defect that is becoming a bad habit very frequent here...

What is happening to head-fi, eh? Where are Nick Dangerous, Kelly, Hirsch, Neruda, and all those real nice guys who used to post a lot, they are simply maybe sick of the BS, offenses and flame wars that they read here everyday, for every single reason.....

The term "Marketing Monkey" is pretty much a part and parcel of any business plan. I am a marketing monkey too but dont let that ruin your christmas.

Sov - make radical claims but try to back them up with some proof...

I know Rudi and I know his style. I knew about him before most headfi members and I owned his amp when some of you were playing with a PPA. I have no doubt about this amp and what it can do but I doubt it is the best SS amp available now. I also believe it could well be...but it is begging for a review from someone who doesnt get tipsy with excitement

Yes, this is right, the RP33 is not the best SS amp available now... just because of his big brother (RP010).

I think that I'll speak more of the RP010 after other guy have listened the RP33... I can do a precise comparison about the two RP...

At the moment I just say that the RP33 is the nearest in sound to the RP010...

Best!

Sov, we're going to have fun pitting the RP33 against Pinkie - the Solo went through one more round of mods since you last heard it and it should be pretty burned in by now!

Guru:
What kind of proof do you want? Well, send me your ears and they will be pleased, for sure...LOL...Later on you will do the "balanced review" you are used to do...LOL...

But this amp is not here for you to review it, sorry...This amp will go to Aaron's first, and later probably to the WA/Seattle meeting, and it is here mainly, for me to listen to it (like it or not) Sorry but Rudi chooses me, and not you, wrong monkey, well maybe.....Everybody has the right to be wrong sometimes, except you, of course....

And yes I was playing with my PPA, and I'm still doing it, the PPA FYI, is an extremelly capable hi-end amp, like it or not, and it deserves to be consider as such, if you have not heard a good one, this is not my fault, go and heard Xtremes or mine, and you will hear what we are talking about, and what a PPA is able to do....to play with a PPA is IMO not a wasted time at all.....

Do you have both?

What headphones can you test with. I know you have Qualia but do you have anything else? PS1 ?

Let's see how this new Pinky performs, for now I was really impressed with the stock one honestly, I was expecting a more humble performance, and it sounded very good to me, but IMO and sorry to be a little sceptic the Pinky will be more in the league of the RP31 than in the RP33 one, remember that this is a dual mono amp, with two huge PSUs and two separate boards, a completelly different principle of topology......again I will be more than pleased of hearing it, and hey maybe we got the surprise of the year, but pricewise the comparison is a little rough for the little Pinky I think, but anyway we will see...BTW if you want I can pick you up in Manhattan for the meet just we have to agree on one place and period, and I can give you a ride if you guide me there to Queens...LOL...

When I said that some things That Gsferrari said are valid, are things like:

Quote:
I am up for the task of reviewing the RP33. I doubt you will send it this way but if you do - I can promise a fair review.

I just cannot stand it when someone proclaims that some product is the best thing since sliced bread...sorry
Which I am afraid that I also fell into that pit, when boasting about the Qualias...But I have spent a lot of time with almost every headphone out there, and felt it was a valid point. I also pointed out some negatives, like the microphonics of the chord, and making bad recordings, and noisy vinyl sound really bad, just to try to offer some balance.

Also:
Quote:

...and...Writing a "balanced" review is one thing. I am never modest but I dont lie - see my Rudistor RP5 review if you want to know what a "balanced" review should be like. There are always pluses and minuses for every product out there. A good review exposes the negatives as well as the positive.
I know that this wasn't a review...which is important to make very clear. but while I agree with things that have been expressed in this thread from both points of view, I just feel that it got personal, and you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
I feel this goes back long B4 this thread. I also believe that a person should go to a meet even if someone is there that isn't on your best friends' list, because no one should stop you from doing something that you are passionate about, and it might turn around into a positive experience.
Even Jesus didn't blame the Romans for what they did.
