boston acousics cr series, great cheap speakers

I just got a pair of CR-55 for my dorm. They sound good to my ears. They cost me 90 bucks after tax from best buy. Before the flames start flying, the best buy where I live actually carries pretty decent speakers. They just started a partnership with vienna audio, boston acoustics and some others. Anyways, the CR-55 sounded better than anything I heard up to 300 dollars a pair. The only thing I have to complain about is a tendency to be edgy on cymbal hits. But for this price, I doubt I could have done any better. I could have tried for some paradigm atoms or something, but at twice the cost, I don't think they are anything close to twice as good.

Congrats on the nice speakers. I've got a pair of CR5 speakers that I still use today. I have had them for about 8 years and I love them. I'm sure you'll enjoy your cr55s too.

I had the Boston CR8 and it was one of the best speakers I've ever owned (others include Paradigm Mini-Monitor and NHT SuperOne). I was going to ask "Best Buy carry Boston Acoustics?" Then I realized they own Magnolia Hi-Fi, and they actually have a showroom inside my local Best Buy. There's a new CR series coming out, so for those who are looking into getting speakers, check out the discontinued series.
