I would say the 4th as well. Second would be his 1st Symphony.

I can't choose between 1st and 4th.. I love 4th but the Adagio from the 1st is amaaazing IMO

No. 4 then 1. The 4th is special to me because it was one of my first Brahms symphonies live by the BSO. I was fortunate to hear Berliner Phil perform Nos. 3 and 4 a few weeks ago, and I got to hear the BSO perform No. 1 a few weeks ago as well.

As a listener, I have to say the 1st. That incredible roller coaster of a finale gets me everytime. As a performer it's the 4th.

The finale of the 1st is awesome to hear 4 hands piano, quite a trip I can tell you
