Amp or Reciever for Speakers

I'm thinking for a small bedroom setup. Around 100-150 used (for speakers and amp).

I have idea of what speakers to look for, but I'm not sure if I should get a reciever or amplifier. The speakers will probably be a maximum of 100 watts / channel. The speakers will be connected to my computer (p200) for MP3, OGG and such. I'll probably get all items from ebay (US).

2-channel amps generally give a better sound for your money than a receiver at the same price, for fairly obvious reasons - the 2 channel amp tends to be less complex, needing less components and therefore the quality of the components is usually higher. Also, in receivers you have things like big displays, remote circuitry (although you can get that in 2-channel too), processors, and more channels for the power supply to try and cope with.

If music is your bag then go for 2-channel.
