Classic vintage Marantz 2270 receiver for sale. Visually, it's beautiful: all the lamps work, very few scratches, shiny and bright. You will be hardpressed to find one that looks better. A few months ago all the jacks, pots, and terminals were cleaned with Caig DeOxit and the transformers were treated with LPS. I did not do this myself.
It does not however work perfectly. There is some noise in the left channel when connected to speakers (i.e., not via the headphone jack). I don't know if this is a blown channel or not -- I am not a technician. Also, there is an intermittent problem with the phono stage -- sometimes it works, sometimes it is distorted. I just don't have the time to get it repaired, even though I'd love to. It's a beautiful piece.
Unit is sold AS-IS. Since the amp is heavy and expensive to ship, I cannot accept any returns. It is just not practical for either of us to ship it back and forth. Shipping will be calculated via UPS Ground to your zip code. I will also be willing to do a local pickup. I am located in Pittsburgh. Even with local pickup, however, there will be no returns.
NOTE: I am also offering the classic WOOD CABINET you see pictured seperately. This is an ADDITIONAL $60. This cabinet looks great and protects the amp as well. These are quite hard to find nowadays. Thanks and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me.
