Love My NEW SuperMacro - Page 2

post #16 of 127
Aww man, to all the people baggin him for "advertising" I say: Lighten up fellas!

This entire site is full of conjecture, opinion, and preferences. None of this is fact, and everyone understands that. If he wants to post and tell us that he loves a piece of equipment and WHY, then that's what this forum is FOR.

This site is, and will always be, a place for people to express their likes and dislikes about headphones and related equipment. It can't be anything else, because none of the stuff we post is anything but opinion and is never "fact".

Grow up!

Yeah but does the SM have mil-spec PCB's and solder?

I for one like to see a little enthusiasm when someone's happy with a new purchase. People should be encouraged to post their opinions on new amps even if they don't have the time or expertise to write an extended review.

Full reviews are obviously more informative, but it's nice to be able to get a few quick opinions too!

Yeah but the original title was "BUY A SUPERMACRO NOW!" or something to that effect. It's not a big deal but the title change wasn't a bad idea. END SUBJECT.

Back to the supermacro, fellas.

Uh, no...but the pre-injected scratcheslamistat plasma is directly proportional to the phase inverters' in-line energy pattern on SM's jefferies tubes.

I am with you TWIFOSP and jpr703. How many posts tell us to go and buy something ot other? Countless? It's just one indicator of soemone's enthusiasm. We can all make up our own minds about what to purchae or not.

We should now all go out and buy some Newcastle Brown, preferably a 12-pack, and celebrate the SuperMacro!! After you have bought it, of course!

This is all so silly.

The thread starter is posting his excitement about his new amp, which he is really enjoying. Thanks for threadcrapping.

This has been posted about several times. $249 starting price.
Size: 3.25x2.125x0.91 in (smaller than a credit card and an iPod)
Weight: 6.5 oz (yes, with 8 AAA batteries)

For other specific info, see earsonic's SM page

See Zanth's review in the Full Review section

Thank you for your astute understanding jpr! My enthusiasm for this product really is unmitigated, and my passion is simply a transference of the passion with which this product was produced. To say that I "know" Dr. Xin would probably be an overstatement - ours is essentially a 21st century, cyber-space relationship. Yet I feel I know certain things about him, the quality he strives for in his products, and his commitment to service. All of this is wrapped up in the tiniest of boxes that simply sounds freakin' awesome! Just wanting to offer up some rooftop props he so richly deserves IMO.

I agree with you but there is a thin line between enthusiasm and commercialism. The mods are sensitive to it.

I had a thread deleted once that contained pictures of the SR-71 when it first came out, with some brief impressions and information on where it could be purchased. I didn't think it was commercial but the mods thought otherwise and deleted the thread because they said it constituted an ad.

Considering my experience, I am a little surprised this thread wasn't deleted immediately. I am not coming down on the mods or Head-Fi. I appreciate all they do and respect and abide by their decisions. I'm just pointing out that this is a non-commerical site and we need to respect that even if what we think is commercial does not agree with what the mods think is commericial.

Do you have the 6dB bass boost or the new 10dB boost?

I've got my SuperMono burn-in process going 24/7 w/ OPA627's.

I must say that unless the impedance switch takes a really long time to burn in, I might be one of those people who prefer 4P to 4S even with bass boost and SuperMacro. 4P sounds more breathy, lively, and exciting in the vocals with just a bit less refinement so far...

Point taken. I never saw that thread, so I can not comment. However, if that's all it was, then I would disagree that it's an advertisement. It's product info about products we're all interested in. Had you of posted some initial impressions, it stops being an ad and starts being a review? Shrug.

But the only difference between a post like this one, and a full fledged review is an attempt at objectivity and usually more vocabulary words

In other words, every review has to do with recommendations and conveying of opinions for the reader to digest on their own.

Yeah but your wording was exactly the same as the very people you were making fun of, so its a little hard to distinguish the nature of your post. Here are some tips to help you in your communication:

winking ->
joking ->
looks are not your thing ->
have a unibrow ->
stopped posting because you know you are better than everyone else ->

Hope this helps.

Biggie.

What does your burn-in process consist of? I mean, I'm having trouble doing anything but listening to the SM as much as possible (which is pretty much highly enjoyable, interactive burn-in, I guess)...
