RatShack variable output ac-dc adapter

The one I'm looking at is
3-12V 800mA regulated adapter.
My battery charger takes 12V DC 800mA.
What's the drain of the Panasonic SL-CT570, 500mA?

Should I just get this one, or get 4.5V 700mA (both filtered and regulated) for the pcdp, and the 3-12V 1000mA one for the charger? The latter seems stupid, but I just want to make sure that there's nothing to gain beyond the 3-12V regulated 800mA one.
Does •negative--<•--positive• mean that the polarity is positive?

Yeah it means the inside of the plug/jack is positive, the outside is negative. The radioshack AC/DC adapters come with the adaptaplugs that can be fitted either polarity so you can match it to any unit. I would just get the first one you listed. It works great and is inexpensive. It is also filtered. I would only get two if you need to use the cd player and charger at the same time.
