I was considering buying a pair of Paradigm Titan speakers on eBay. However I don't know how much these things cost new (retail). These will be my first pair of speakers. Someone please help.

Thanks.

My local Hi-Fi shop sells Titans for $229.00. They should cost less online, and even less used.

For comparison, the same local shop sells Atoms new for around $175 and they can often be found for around $150 online, and usually sell for $100-$120 used.

Cool, thanks! However I haven't been able to find them online other than used on eBay.

Paradigm doesn't authorize online sales of its speakers. I believe the warranty are voided when Paradigms are purchased online.

One more thing, magnetic shielding is optional on the Titans.

I think that's right. My local dealer told me Paradigm has a 5 year warranty that is voided if purchased online. Of course that was coming from a dealer and not directly from the manufacturer.

Still, I think there are some great Paradigm deals on Ebay and elsewhere online that would probably be worth doing even if it meant no warranty (i.e. if you can purchase them like new and for half-price).

personally, not worth it if its just $30 more to buy it at a retailer and have the 5 year warranty.

my 2 cents.

Thanks guys! I'm leaning on purchasing either the Paradigm Titans or NHT SB1.
