new project (for me)...suggestions welcome

I am starting my second amp based on a Hansen board because I still have two left over. It will be a home unit only (don't plan on using batteries.) I will also be putting it in a wooden cigar box so space is not a factor. However the pot, jacks, and power switch that I used for my first mint tin amp will not work because the thickness of the box sides are 1/4" thick. Any suggestions for components, panel mounted components, and the like from fellow amp builders that have done something like this would be greatly appreciated.

One solution is to mount the parts on a piece of metal like brass or aluminum and then make a nice cut out for the metal panel in the wood box. You can place the panel behind the wood to give a reccessed look, but your wood cut will need to look nice for that to look good. Mounting the metal panel on the front will cover your cut out if it looks bad. Otherwise you will need to remove wood from the inside surface of the box till the wall is thin enough. That is a bit tougher to do in my opinion.
