Single-sided Cable Replacement for HD25-1?

Is it possible? I tried swapping the steel cable on my HD25 with the OFC one on my HD580, and the difference was, well, too large to ignore. But I like the single-sided aspect of the HD25, and if possible I would like to keep it that way. So I was wondering if there are any possible single-sided cable replacements for the HD25.
The qualifications are these: one, it would have to be thin enough to push into that crack in the headband, two, it would have to be of decent quality (OFC at least), three, the sleeving would have to be non-microphonic, and four, it would have to have Senn connectors, which is not a problem since connectors can be swapped relatively easily. Length can also easily be modified. The problem is, where would one find a non-microphonic cable that is thin enough, and of decent quality? The HD580/600 replacement cable unfortunately is thicker than that of the HD25-1, and the HD650 cable is thicker still, so it wouldn't fit inside the crack in the headband. Is there an appropriate cable/method one can use to DIY a cable that thickness? Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, the stock HD 25-1 cable is really horrible.

If you order a HD 25 replacement cable from Sennheiser they will send you the HD 25-13 OFC cable. I can tell you in a week how this cable sounds. I think this cable is single-sided and just as flexible as the steel cable but I can't be sure until I see it for myself.

This is what I wrote in a another thead:
"I'm also finding myself going for the HD 650 stock cable with the HD 25 most of the time (due to the stock cable's flexibilty) while the Headphile cable is staying on the HD 650 until I can get my hands on a Zu. I also received the HD 25-13 stock cable by mail a few days ago (unfortunately at my house in Germany). Actually I wanted to get the real stock (steel) cable in order to finish my revised review but Sennheiser sent me the OFC HD 25-13 cable instead (so I just loaned another HD 25 from a friend of mine). I'll be fetching up this cable in a week or so and will try do some comparisons between this cable and the HD 650 stock."

I didn't know there's an OFC version of the HD25 cable! That's good news...

Saint.panda, do you know if the HD25-13 OFC cable has any other differences, besides being 3 meters long? That is to say, is the 3.5mm plug an angled or a straight one?

I think it's a 6.3mm but I have to see for myself to be sure.

Please be aware that SennheiserUSA does not carry this cable. When I called them all I got was some BS about how they would have to special order it from Sennheiser HQ. I have also left 2 messages @ sennheiser.com regarding the 25-13 3m cable and have yet to receive a reply. It's getting a little frustrating.

I ordered mine directly in Germany and it took them more than a month to stock the cable and eventually send it to me.

Saint Panda,
How much does Sennheiser in Germany charge you for a HD25-13 cable - and did they mention what part number it had ?
For me 33 euros as they cost in a few other places is horrible compared to the 45 euros Oehlbach which includes shipping (in my opinion).

EDIT: Off topic, but just out of curiosity - didn't you live in Munich before ? Why move to Zürich to those hard-to-understand-what-they-are-saying Swiss people ?

Daroid, they charged me 21 Euros including shippin to Germany. I'll check on the part number.

If you're using 20-22 gauge wire to recable it should fit inside the cavity of the headband (there are two cavities, so the ground goes in one and the positive goes in the other), you may have to put some small diameter heat shrink tubing on them to get them to stay in there as teflon is pretty slippery.
