I have been done with Van Halen since 96 when they re-screwed up the Roth reunion. I should have been done with them in 85, but 1984 was the first rock album I remember hearing and loving(back in 1985) and I am way too loyal to entertainment acts.

As much as I like DLR as the frontman for VH, I think he screwed up the "reunion" by being a goofball. On the other hand, I do believe the VH brothers are kinda hard to get along with.

Wouldnt surprise me... been a fan since I was 13 (Im 33 now). thats just the way they are.

They should have stayed broken up. No sense in flogging a dead horse, they had their day, they just don't make great music anymore. Maybe I much prefer DLR & EVH's sound is so passe now.

I never got the appeal of Diamond Dave. Sammy is a singer (and a great one at that), Dave is a moron.

EVH is a wonderful guitarist, one of the best ever. But he and his brother bought into their own press. Van Halen the band will forever have problems because of that.

But Dave had a style that fit perfectly with what he was singing. Yeah, he was jumping in the air while wearing genital-squeezing spandex (how could that be comfortable?), but it fit well.

As for the reunion tour, it seemed kind of sad to see them try again. Those songs they recorded for the greatest-hits album just sucked. Eddie should just release an instrumental album, since that's probably VH's biggest draw at this point.

I enjoy Dave's antics, but as Van Halen the band evolved, I think Dave would only goofier and goofier. I think Sammy was good progress, for the most part. Now Eddie should just release instrumental albums a la Satriani. I mean, there's nothing left to prove.
