I wouldn't say that either is 'better'. Each does something special. The Etys block out sound WAY better than than Grados, but they won't have that bass slam that the Grados have. The SR-325 is as neutral as the new grados get, but they are not nearly as neutral as the etys. Neither phone needs an amp, but both will benefit from one. Another thing to consider is the comfort of the grados. Many people think that they are uncomfortable, but that can e mostly fixed by bending the headband and using sock pads (don't laugh I'm serious and there was a thread about it at Headwize) over the coarse foam. You should also find out what pads they will come with, as each sounds different. Each sounds different but neither is bad. Try to listen to them before hand. I hope that helps.post #3 of 56/23/01 at 8:51am- Blodg

This sock thing on the ear pads sounds interesting. I've got 325's & 60's & raw ears after an hour. Didn't know there was different pads used? Tell me more?post #4 of 59/6/10 at 2:11pmI heard the 325s were the best anybody can get for rock music.
