Hey Todd esterday I sent an email re delivery to Australia and I havent heard anything back. So Im trying here.

If you do deliver, what is the price of shipping? Feel free to PM me if thats what you wish. Thanks

I'm sorry to burst your import bubble, but by the time you add the often outrageous shipping charges that some shippers charge for shipping outside the US, you'll end up paying just about as much money (total) as the over-inflated prices that Australian resellers charge for the same headphones.

I ordered a PIMETA from Headsave and it didnt cost that much for shipping. Its not just because I think its cheaper, its because I havent seen many Aussie retailers that stock it. A HD600 here is SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS minimum. usually its around 700AUD.

I think meier audio is your best bet for senns if they got what you after as the prices listed include international shipping.

Cheers

Hunter, I believe todd uses Fedex for deliveries.

With any courier service, any package with value over 250AUD gets taxed no exceptions (not even marked as gift in my case).

The worst thing is these guys charge more brokerage fees than you pay in tax.

I imported an amp worth USD450 and I paid AUD125 in taxes and brokerage.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Shop around and you can get a good deal. I purchased my HD650 here in sydney in March for only AUD530.

I just calculated shipping on a relatively small package from US to Australia and even without insuring it, the cost was over $60. I'd have to agree... buy locally. Not sure how HeadRoom is doing theirs but I used UPS.

Yes I didnt expect the post to be much but now you guys remind me of the matter of taxes. mneuwiueyagaobcf, where did you get the HD650 for so little??? Please post or PM me. Thanks

Hi Hunter Killer,

I can send the HD650 to you in Australia via Global priority Mail for $25 shipping. I cannot post my price for the 650 but if you go to my site and get a quote, you can just add the shipping to it... I am happy to ship to anyone anywhere with products I am allowed to ship outside the USA (not Grado)

Packages going into Australia via courier valued at over AUD$250 will incur tax/duties but packages sent by post will only incur tax if they are valued over AUD$1000. So it is best to use post, plus it's cheaper.

Just a suggestion but you might be able to find a used pair of Senns from a US (or Australian) seller. Either here or on Audiogon. Assuming the seller is willing to ship internationally (on your dime) the cost for just the cans would be under $250 AUD, most likely and could be marked as not a new item, whatever helps you get through customs.

Importing HD650 to Australia

Any Aussies know the import tax cost in AUD of importing the Sennheiser HD650 to Australia?

I won't say where I'm buying from (since I know most of the online shops don't like to have their prices openly announced), but I'll just say it's a bit less than 500.

Even better, anyone know the rules about price brackets/types of products/labelling as a gift?

I've looked on the AU gov customs site, but I couldn't find the info I wanted.

Thanks.

most items with a declared value under 1000aud in my experience have almost always been glanced over....

I have had a PDA that was used and sent to me via post. Declared value was USD350. I had to pay AUD50+ in import duties + GST. So sometimes items under AUD1000 does get taxed
