Straight out of Japan, not available in North America, why do the Japanese get all the good toys?
I have had these for just over 2 months now and these are my go to portable...
Reposting my original review from Amazon.com - these headphones are just too good to be left in the dustbin of history - for instance, I just bought a pair of Monoprice MEP-933, listed everywhere...
Somehow, the Ballad of Jed Clampett comes to mind, as I start to write this. You know, the Beverly Hillbillies. He was living his life, struck gold, and everything changed. That's kind of what...
Hi, Head-fiers. This is my first post as a newbie in the forum.

OK, so far so good. I just need another day or so to finish my listening, if that's ok? I am in the middle of moving at the same time, so time has been split many different ways...Oh yeah, I am supposed to work too, eh
How did you determine that the 12AU7 (very similar to 5963) is a plausible substitute for 12AX7 (5751/7025)? Aren't they a bit remote? (this is really a newbie question). I notice that none of the roll gang particularly liked the 12au7 and one reported some odd behavior.
Is this all safe because the MGH is self-biasing? Would any 12A*7 tube be OK? Is there any danger of frying the tube and/or amp with more remote substitutes?
Hooray! Don't forget to take notes, sign the box, and post a pic if you can.
daycart1: Joe Lau posted that it would be OK to try some of the other 12A*7 variants such as the 12AT7, 12AU7, and others. Do a search for Joe's posts with "12AU7" and it should show up.
I just swooped up a MG Head OLT for a steal, and want to put some new tubes in it! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add me to the list. Thanks a bunch!
