I have the hp890 and its good but I was thinking of selling it. PM me if you're in England.

i had the hp890 for a while, with dt231 i only had a brief listen.
to me hp890 sounded much superior sound wise. with meta42, hp890 wasnt exactly in the same league as hd-580 yet had similar sonic signature except somewhat tinny highs. those phones are quite heavy, heavier than cd3000s
dt231s on the contrast are very light... cant say much about their sound, they were ok to me but i would definitely go with hp890.

The 890 are more "plush" and larger, but I much prefer the sound of the DT 231.
