as for The Human League, i'm a hardcore League fan so i get pretty defensive when i see them labeled as a one hit wonder, even in the US! besides "Don't You Want Me" in 1982 (it hit #1 in the UK late 1981) they had another #1 Billboard smash with "Human" in 1986, and a #9 hit with "(Keep Feeling) Fascination!" in 1983.

regrettably, MC Hammer was not a one hit wonder either!

my favourite one hit wonder (at least in the US) is "Cars" by Gary Numan. he's got tons of hits in the UK and two #1 singles ("Cars" and Tubeway Army's "Are 'Friends' Electric?") but can only manage one US top ten hit.

I'm really old. Like, 38 years old. As a kid, I drove around in a station wagon listening to AM radio. A lot. When I think of one hit wonders, I think of:

"Seasons In The Sun" - Terry Jacks
"The Night Chicago Dies" - Paper Lace
"Brother Louie" - Stories
"Venus" - Shocking Blue (later covered by almost 1hw Bananarama)
"In The Summertime" - Mungo Jerry
"One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)" - Coven
"Smokin' In The Boy's Room" - Brownsville Station
"Midnight At The Oasis" - Maria Muldaur
"Hooked On A Feeling" - Blue Swede (which I still hear often thanks to the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, which leads me to...
"Stuck In The Middle With You" - Stealers Wheel

Oh there are more, but my memory's not what it used to be.

Amazing isn't it. Those songs got very little exposure in Australia.

Dexy's Midnight Runner's Come on Eileen, the quintessential one hit wonder.
I actually saw a DMR's Greatest Hits CD in a used bin once!

A more recent favorite would be New Radicals' You Get What You Give.

To be nitpicky, two artists mentioned in the other posts, Corey Hart and Berlin, are not one hits wonders.
Berlin also had No More Words in addition to Take My Breath Away and Corey Hart had Never Surrender in addition to Sunglasses At Night.
