One of my most favorite "one-hit wonders" is "standing outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand" from the album "Rocket" by Primitive Radio Gods...I liked Wall of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio" too!

Agreed. Although I didn't listen to it while it was a single, I seem to still be hearing it everywhere still and it grew on me. Love the orchestra.

Technically, Golden Earring are a "two-hit" wonder (the other being "Twilight Zone"). I also gotta call Doug on "Frankenstein" -- I think "Free Ride" counts as well.

Mine:
Soft Cell, "Tainted Love" (and it's even a cover)
Human League, "Don't You Want Me"

(Now, I have to admit to being quite more familiar with both of these bands, as well as Wall Of Voodoo, Golden Earring, and many others on this list, but technically, I think these qualify.)

The Hustle by Van McCoy. Years before the Macarena, but just as annoying.

However, I liked it.
