Manbags: Yay or Nay? - Page 2

Please be careful of too many gay comments....

OK, as for the man-purse, I'm thinking that the best thing might be the sort of leather zippered notebook-ish thing that folks use for Franklin Planners. I don't see so many of them any more, since so many folks are using palm or PC organizers. However, they are still around. They don't look like purses per se, and it might be just the thing for you.

If that doesn't do it for you, a buddy of mine (I'm not making this up, I swear) uses a black saddle bag.

No "manbag" here, those things just look stupid. I carry everything I need in my EMS backpack.

What category do you guys think messenger bags go under? Are they "man-bags" too?

I carry around a backpack when I'm out most of the time, but that is more due to the fact that I'm a pedestrian than anything else. Most people that I've seen that take the bus exclusively, especially for commuting to and from work, carry a backpack since it is the easiest way to carry the extra stuff you tend to carry as a pedestrian. Generally in mine is a CD player (with a remote), extra CDs, sometimes my cellphone charger, sometimes my cellphone, cold medicine, and breath mints. Basically, stuff that needs to be infrequently accessed. Essentials like my wallet (finally started carrying one), keys, cellphone (most of the time), and chap stick all stay in my pockets on my person. I would not like the idea of carrying essential items in some sort of "manbag" instead of in my pockets, I feel that it would be inconvenient and a bit too feminine.

Edit: And I should note that this thread reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry is carrying around a "European handbag" and gets made fun of, especially when he gets it stolen and tells a cop who reports it as a stolen purse

HEY, I like tight pants, lay off!!

I thought this thread would be about phil mickelson's man thingies.
sorry lefty.
anyway, yes some BDU's would suffice with all it's pockets but people may look at you funny. And, small backpacks looks too femme, remember the little black backpack craze with the ladies? They also seem too light and not sturdy enough.
Something in the Maxpedition line sounds right. like the fatboy here, I've seen people have. They also have a convertible fannypack that holds more.

I didn't notice this post until D-EJ915 replied to it, but when did tighter pants start becoming in fashion again? I don't care about fashion and wear larger pants since they are comfortable and don't make me look as skinny as I am. But I was pissed when K-Mart (okay, start making fun of me...I'm cheap) discontinued the loose size of their Route 66 (made by Dickies) jeans since they were cheap and comfortable and not overly large. I like jeans but not those "relaxed fit" or "regular fit" jeans since they try to fit tight and I find tight clothes uncomfortable. Plus I want pocket space and don't like stuff in my pockets showing as huge bulges. Given that I carry my wallet in my front pocket, pocket space is pretty important.

Hi donovansmith,

They are a little bit more than that:

«Additional factors in infertility include the following: (...) wearing tight-fitting pants and underwear...»

They have been for awhile now in the whole indie scene, and its starting to spread out to mainstream style too.

Also, pleated fronts are out, flats are in. Go flats!

I think only a few people can pull off tight jeans, as well as manbags. (moderately baggy is my choice, no self-respecting asian guy wears tight pants in my area, they usually scream "target!")

I say go for it anyway, screw what people say. Just please don't call em "manbags". Some people rock 'em with ease.

Forget tight pants and wear a kilt. Then you can carry around your crap in your sporran.
