What headfi member seems mysterious to you and why? - Page 5

I don't mean to start anything (or change the subject), but if I can, I would like to make an observation about a certain statement I read in this thread.

Anyways, I just for some reason thought that bringing something like that up again (in the insult-like context) about such a personal thing that Pinkie chose to share (which meant he needed someone/friends to talk to for help) with us, is the most stupid, immature thing I've ever heard anyone say on these forums in a very long time...since Merton's frequent postings anyways.

Hehe - nice. But I know another Norbert - and yet another one since a few weeks. Conclusion is that Norberts tend to be of German origin and a bit strange, but nice and funny persons. So thumbs up for Norberts from my side!

The only Norbert I ever remember is from THE ANGRY BEAVERS!! woohoo...that show was crazy, it was insane and calm at the same time...made you want to bash your head in...love the theme song though.


Oh...considering what PinkFloyd posted, the funny thing is...I'm listening to a song called "Nails in Your Head"

FYI, Norbert is average popularity Polish name. It does sound German to me as well so could be both as the countries share a border which shifted allot threw the many wars threw millenniums. Even the city of my birth, Cracow, long time capital of Poland, used to have a good size German population as late as 1400 or 1600s

I'm sorry KR...I just don't think that a statement like that should be used at all, ever. Doesn't matter if he really was relapsing (which we don't know for sure...for all we know, he might have been sarcastic or hurt with his response from reading that statement). Just put yourself in his shoes. Using pinkies past problems to justify a statement like that is just not something i agree with. Am I not entitled to my opinion about someone blatantly making a rude and possible flame-worthy statement, claiming to probably use the "eye for an eye" method of attacking someones weakness. It could have gotten really ugly over NOTHING...but I know it didn't, so I guess we can all just forget it was never said.

And btw, I do know about the situation more than you think...That is all I'll say!

Also, I respect all you guys way too much to make a huge stink about this. I just wanted to give my immediate thoughts on a statement that is basically un-called for. Any maybe I wouldn't have made my *un-called for* statement if the said immature accusation wasn't made???

As for a mysterious member...
lini, it's not that you're mysterious to me, I simply think of you because I cannot for the life of me come up with a mental picture of what you'de be like in person. I do however know one thing...that is, that you would be a very informative person to talk to who could at command answer any type of question that is thrown at you. You always have something extremely useful to add to any conversation and it makes it all the more weird for me that I cannot picture what you would look like or be like in person. For pretty everyone else, I have this mental picture of what they'de be like. These mental guesses I have are probably wrong in every way, but at least I have formed them. With lini I cannot!!??!!??

BTW, great topic for a thread!!!

Norbert

I didn't expect much comments on the Norbert name: my head-fi name. Norbert to me is a Catholic saint from the 1200's in the Middle ages in Europe. Since I am indeed a "monk". Saint Norbert was the founder of my religious order. Norbert was fascinating. There is much mythology around him. Mainly we appreciate him as a rebel and man dedicated to helping bring the truth to others. Norbert was a reformer in an age when people would spit in his face, love him, and hate him. He founded a religious order of priests gathered together in commmunities in remote places for the purpose of attracting people to travel to their houses for instruction and truth. Hugely popular in his day. Today we do the same, but as much as people are hungering for spiritual truth, there are so many ways to get to that, we are in the background even with Catholics.

I like being a rebel, a reformer, and an underdog. So it fits for me. Yea, we vow poverty, but I can't give up my stereo and headphones (see my profile).
But I,and my brothers, plug happily along.

The name smriti is common among Indian girls. I had a girlfriend with that name for a while.

Smriti of HeadFi has excellent feedback but very few posts (bah I wish I was like that...NOT )
