So I have a Bottlehead Crack kit coming and I'm considering upgrading the pot. My question is: is it better to use an established pot (Alps RK27 - or DIY my own stepped attenuator? For the SAI plan to get the parts from eBay ( and just use generic resistors (I'll be hand matching them of course) - trying to keep cost as low as possible.

Which one do you guys think is the better way to go? Does anyone has any experience with this? Thanks!
