Now back to listening.

Now that's odd, but thanks for the tip! I guess I could try this one out as well.

They also have the same cable in black.

If they sucked you probably wouldn't have a 32 page thread with mostly positive responses.

Just saying.

I suspect fakes or subpar QC is happening bc while they have elevated bass its not muddy or boomy and these are also not dark by any stretch of the imagination.

Yup, noticed, though with a remote and a mic.

And twice the US price in the EU Amazon :P

Strange. The remote cable is $3 cheaper on Amazon US and I didn't realize there was a remote cable until you mentioned it. I was talking about the black equivalent of the white one I got.

@SpiderNhan ah, for some reason the black non-mic+remote-version isn't available on UK/DE Amazons. And the price for your equivalent is 29.99€/24.99£, equaling 32$.

I've been using. Magaosi K3 Pro for about two weeks now and have positive reviews for them. I'm running them through iBasso DX80 and iPhone 6s. I usually prefer my AKG K240 headphones since they are revealing in nature being Studio Monitors. I usually don't use EQ and find the K3 to be pretty good sounding. Very good detail, amazing controlled bass on the gray filters. Soundstage in IMO is above average for an IEM for actual soundstage is usually found in open back headphones.
More importantly, I've been listening to mostly lossless formats, so a good recording is of importance when you aim at having good sound quality. I believe that the K3 have a pleasing sound signature and fairly balanced for enjoying it for a good amount of time at one go. Your mileage may vary though.

Either way it's good to know that a quality cable fixes the connection issues which is cool because I was planning on upgrading the cable from the start. I'd be more angry if I had paid full price for these, but now that the cable problem is fixed I can finally enjoy them without distraction and they sound wonderful. It is quite similar to the Dunu DN-2000j except it corrects both the issues I had with those which were A) treble was that too bright and B) bass that too light. The only issue I'm contending with now is the slight discomfort which is surprising considering how tiny these things are.

I agree. More likely the same scenario that is happening to Trinity. Supply can't keep up with demand. Unfortunately the Chinese would have no scrupples about cutting corners to meet demand.

I am pretty sure my suspicion is correct.

I purchased mine from Penon Audio about three weeks ago I think.
I got the version with the mic cable and it is a K3 pro. I think they are very good and outstanding for the price point.
They represent the music in the track/recording very well. I thought all the frequencies were nicely represented and vocals were forward

Obviously I have no idea the date mine were produced. The quality control seems to be good on the version I got.

Depending upon the sound signature a particular person enjoys, I can't imagine anybody would be disappointed with the pair I got.

I hope the manufacturer is not cutting corners or that there are significant number of counterfeits being produced that are of poor quality

The reason for the price difference is due to the 3.5mm male connector. The end is much higher quality on the clear/white one vs the black one.

I have a bunch of those ends that I use when I need to repair/replace connectors or build cables. They cost a few dollars a piece.

That's often called the Oyaide L-Plug in Chinese DIY though i'm not so sure whether is it really original Oyaide ones. Oyaide is a Japanese electronic parts manufacturer though they themselves admit there're counterfeit of their products out there. I really like the quality of this L-plug as well

Cool thanks for the info.

I likely have some of both (genuine and counterfeit). The 1st batch I bought were almost $10 each, then I later found another source that were 1/3 of the price. Both types I bought seem pretty much the same though - solid copper body (or maybe brass), heavy as heck, and everything gold & nickel plated.
