Clou Cables: What do they do?

All right, I just put the check in the mail for markl's HD 600's after Flumpus's insistance. My question after all of this is what do Clou Cables do? I have the blue cables? Do they really make that big of a difference?

sackley,

You bought the ones that were on sale with the Clou Blue Jaspis cables? That was a good deal if you did.

The Clou cable is a higher quality cable than the one that comes stock on the HD-600's. It is double-shielded (the stock one isn't shielded at all). Think of it as a good interconnect that goes between your headphone jack and your headphones.

Yeah, I am getting the HD 600's Clou Cables. All right. I have been wondering about them since hearing about them. Thanks.

sackley,

Click on this link for information about the Clou Cables directly from Clou's site

The official website for Clou is right here. Other than that, not much information to be found on them.

As for what they do, they basically let much more information through than the stock cable. Seems pretty transparent, as well.

Wow, those just look a lot cooler than your average headphone cord.

Yes, they certainly make a statement... since I have the Red Jaspis, that statement is... I am really red...

I like red

are there any other replacements for the sennheiser cables besides the clou cables?
No other replacements that I know of...

There will be if I track down those plugs...

I want to build my own cables for my 600s. Do the Jaspis cables have the same molded on part as the stock Zenheiser cable? I am trying to figure out if those things are made to any standard, or are totaly costom.

From reading the description on the Clou site, what makes the cables special are: 1) the silver plated copper wires, 2) braided wire configuration, 3) shielding around the wires (2 or 3 layers depending on the blue or red models). These should probably affect the sound the most.

is the only difference between the red and the blue the shielding?

AFAIK, that is correct.
