From the "What are you listening to right now" thread:

Sinoia Caves 'Beyond The Black Rainbow' OST (2014)

Sinoia Caves 'The Enchanter Persuaded' (2006)

if you are a fan of the soundtracks of John Carpenter and or vintage analog synth music
(i.e. Boards of Canada, Brian Eno, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream etc...)
chances are you'll love the music of Sinoia Caves.

Almost shared the Beyond the Black Rainbow soundtrack myself really good 1. Actually if you like slow "atmospheric" movies it almost feels like a spoiler sharing the soundtrack (though I think some of them were pre-existing songs).

Ha! Yeah the soundtrack is pretty much what makes the move imo. But the album is standalone for sure, and not exactly as it was in the film (?)

thanks to Blended Twice for making me aware of this forum.

I am definitely a fan of electronic/synth music, and love just about everything that's been posted here.

I wasn't aware that there was a new Blade Runner film coming out, that's excellent news and I have no doubt Jóhann Jóhannsson will do a great job .
I've been a fan of his work since I first discovered the vast amount of amazing and unique musicians/bands coming out of Iceland in the late 90's and early 2000's i.e.
Múm,  Sigur Rós ,Kira Kira,Amiina, Stafrænn Hákon, Apparat Organ Quartet (Jóhann Jóhannsson's first group) Kippi Kaninus, Polkadot Sunflowerbed Orchestra etc..

(also any Vangelis fan who hasn't heard the 5xCD set of the 25th anniversary Esper 'Retirement' edition should check it out)

two albums i'd highly recommend by little know artists/albums that may take some seeking out but will be well worth your time and effort are
1.) Szam Findlay 'Die Hautfabrik' (2001) which is an eclectic mixture of ambient/idm/classical and is oddly enough the only solo record he ever made (don't bother trying to find his songs on youtube as all that comes up is some project he did years afterward called Dandi Wind which sound nothing at all like his solo record) and while Die Hautabrik is rare it can be found on the Discogs forums for as little as $4/$5 .it's the sort of record that was made for the headphone experience and if you get the original version from Todtenschlaf Music comes with a beautiful three ring bound style booklet of photographs/illustrations which perfectly accompany the music - https://www.discogs.com/release/19387-Die-Hautfabrik/images

and 2.) C - Schulz's 1992 album 'Film Ton' which discogs aptly lists under genre as 'Abstract,Ambient,Modern Classical' and this is true on all counts. again an album that can be purchased for under $5 and which will leave you wondering how and why C-Schulz isn't a household name when you hear what a truly superb album it is.thanks
again to Blended Twice for bringing this forum to my attention and i look forward to seeing more recommendations here as well as sharing my own thoughts and ideas.

This is superb.  Just listen to this for about 10 min  (basically browsing throughout the entire album), and it is another gem.  This is exactly what I am looking for.  Many thanks!  If you have more of that kind, feel free to share here.  Cheers

I will check this artist for sure. But first I will have a thorough listen to 4-Film Ton. From the little I listen to it, I was "mesmerized". In one track, the sound of the footsteps are really haunting. Love that kind of atmosphere.

I love The Future Sound Of London (their Environment series is  incredible. they released two new albums in the series this year,  Environment 6 and Environment 6.5
also if you enjoy a mixture of Ambient/Experimental and IDM you might want to check out an artist named Stefan Goldmann ,his new album A1 is excellent, his best work to date imo though it leans more towards experimental IDM than ambient/atmospheric per se,  though it contains elements of all those genres as well as minimal techno .his 2008 album 'Voices Of The Dead' is also excellent and very much a 'travel by thought' experience, especially if you have a set of cans w/ good soundstage and detail retrieval/dynamics.

if you have a Spotify account you can check the album out there
