Key-lock Settings: I'm on current FMV 1.1.3

Don't recall from prior firmware, but if I lock or unlock it doesn't take effect unless you reboot. Also if I lock just the track skip button it will also disable the pause button as well. I want the pause button to still work with screen off.

EDIT - It started working again, so not a consistent issue, hard to troubleshoot I assume.

Also any idea when Vehicle mode will be implanted?

Thanks

For the problem of Key-lock setting , did it happen after connecting  the computer as DAC ? Or as storage to connect the computer ?

what 's more, what situation did you use and then the key lock setting does not take effect?

For the Vehicle mode, it may be added into Firmware in April.

Actually I unintentionally connected to my computer and the DAC connection info popped up. No idea how I did that but it was the day before I noticed the Key Lock setting problem. Sounds like you solved that one for me, why does that happen?

Statement about how to provide feedback of X5 3rd gen

Dear respected users of X5 3rd gen,

Thank you so much for choosing our FiiO X5 3rd gen! Our software team is striving to improve the firmware and serve you with the best experience with our X5. However, we couldn't do it without your assistance in that. You're more than welcomed to share the problems you encountered with us via the following two ways.

1. At the very first startup of X5 3rd gen, you could choose to agree on our User Experience Improvement Project. In this way, any failure information of X5 3rd gen would be automatically uploaded to our server and our engineers could read that info and analyze it as soon as they could (You could go to "FiiO Music Settings- About APP-User Experience Improvement Project" to turn it on if you didn't agree on the project at the beginning).

2. Go to internal storage of your X5 3rd gen (internal_sd\FiiOMusic\crash), and send this "crash" folder to support@fiio.net.

Either way could assist us to define what is the problem with your X5 3rd gen and improve the firmware and your user experience. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

Thank you Fiio!  The support you give your consumers is unparalleled.  I unfortunately am not in a financial state to purchase one right now and won't be for a while.  I will be buying an X5 3 when I have more money coming in.  Work has been dry this Winter and so far this Spring due to the abundance of rain being dumped on my orchards.  I am grateful that the drought is close to gone, but I also would like more money coming in.  When money becomes available and some of the quirks are fixed I will be buying an X5 iii

The side control buttons are disabled when in DAC mode. And in a few occasions when exiting the DAC mode, the system may not detect it well, so the button controls are not recovered.

Once it happens, you may try the below methods to solve it

1. lock the screen then unlock it
2. reconnect to the computer as DAC then disconnect
3. reboot the player

Hello, Fiio

Nice to see your care about customers :)

I am using VLC player and Foobar - for comparison reasons.

Problem with playing 24/192 files was solved - erased all graphic data and left just one jpg. with name "Cover" - playing flawlessly. Anyway, strange - 16bit files with not erased graphic content playing flawless.

I understand, that X5III main purpose it is music playing, but it would be nice to have video too. Already tried VLC with video playback - impossible to turn screen orientation, so picture it is too small to enjoy video. If X5III have gravity sensors, it is easy to fix on Android basis. If not - maybe manual change of orientation?

Promise, will share my thoughts to make XIII perfect.

thank you again for your support.

Wish for the next firmware : a bass boost button. I liked the bass boost on my FiiO E11K.

Maybe we should start separate thread about the X5 because this one is getting difficult to read :D

I have zero issue with the stock FiiO player. If you download files from piratebay or any other site you are going to get lots of extra files left by the seeder/creator.

Gotta open the file and make sure the extra files are not in there. If it is simple ripped lossless files with an album art (.jpg) you should not be having any problems.

I get no stutter, freezes, skips or anything.

Each album folder needs one single image named cover and it is shared by all the files in the folder.

Thank for great advice. Erased jpg. files and X5III playing flawlessly. Anyway strange - 16bit files playing with all additional graphics without any problems.

The same bits going through the same DAC will sound the same.

The same bits going through the same DAC are going to sound the same. I don't see why you cannot get this.
