Long time lurker here,

I recently purchased a pair of Roxanne customs, and I've been breaking them in over the past couple weeks. As I'm getting more accustomed to wearing them, I have a few questions that I would appreciate help getting to the bottom of:

1. The headphones sound great and are comfortable, so I'm inclined to think that the fit is spot-on, but the noise isolation is not as good as I would expect it to be. I previously used a pair of UE 900S universal IEMs, and the noise isolation on the Roxanne's only seems about on par with those despite being custom. When they're in with no music playing ambient noise (i.e. on the street in nyc) is muffled, but not cut down substantially. I would still be able to hear a conversation going on nearby, for example. With music playing loud noises are still audible (i.e. car horns, subway). Does this seem normal? Is there some particular fit issue that could be affecting noise isolation but not musical quality?

2. I'm also hearing more distortion than I might expect (mostly around the low end, which I have set slightly past neutral). Is this normal, or could it be due to some kind of issue with the headphones? Alternatively, could it be due to the poor source I'm using (an iPhone 7 Plus)? For reference, I hear some distortion in the bass of 'Black Barbies' (the top track on Tidal at the moment).

3. Building off that, I'm thinking of getting a dedicated portable player; would it be worth getting something like the AK70 for these?

Particularly with the fit and distortion, I'm hoping that I can send them back within the 30-day window to resolve any issue there may be. Thank you!
