Am I the first owner ??? Qualia 010 !!! - Page 39

Nik

might I recommend listening to the recording done by

David Oistrakh on Violin for Violin Concertos 1 & 2 (composed by Sergei Prokofiev). Recording is done by EMI music
From your description of the 010 and your taste in music, I believe you will like it. if you can get your hands on it, it is pure audio bliss

Thanks Guru!

The pic 1 is the correct postion. If you adopt the 2 position you will listen a lot of hi, if you adopt the 3 position the bass increase a lot...

Only in th 1 position you can hera the right med of the can.

I must go home and try the CD3K in the #3 position ASAP...need bass!

Cool pics, thanks for the scan. I think most everyone did wear them in the #1 position at the Qualia store btw - you can confirm by looking at Romanee's pics of the meet in the impressions thread.

This is instruction for fools!

It's obvious you have to wear it like #1. Did you ever worn or saw someone using any phones in position #2 or #3 ....huh, don't you call that a dork in English.
well no one wears them like #2...but those kids who are used to streetstyles MAY have tried to sling them to the back

I saw a lot of people using the phones in bad positions like the 2 or 3... but some headphones do not affect the sound too much... the Qualia A LOT !

I can't read Japanese, but my guess is that they say like "1 is the correct position, don't wear them in positions 2 or 3 otherwise the sound will be bad".

The same kind of instructions as, you know, "don't drop your MD player on the floor", "don't spill liquids on your amplifier" etc.

Precisely -- meaningless instructions for dummies, such as don't put your wet cat into the microwave.

Dummies, yes that was the word i was looking for...

Nik,

Have you considered changing the stock cable? If you really like your Qualia 010 you should ask your favorite cable manufacturer to make one special for you. You can even ask for a dual mono cable with 2 1/4"phono plugs, then you ask Rudi to change the stereo socket with 2 mono so you can have totally separated Left and Right channel.

Or two XLR plugs and a fully balanced double-mono amplifier.

The two halves of the amp should be supplied with electricity by two separate power plants, of course. Preferably located on two different continents.

no , definitely

I tried them . They fit well on your ears in different positions . The sound is very variable in balance as you move the headphones weared .

You literally INSERT your ears in the headphones , so you "wear" the headphones on your ears .Once headphones are weared , you have 1.to know their sound 2. to find it trough the right position .
I had to relisten to them after some adjustments because of how much the sound changed .

So ..there is a correct position to find and to hold , and it is mmetric .

Yes we (Rudi and I) have considered to a fully balanced with a jack with 4 contact (as I understand well what Rudi told me).

But now I just whant to spend a lot of time with my setup...

Why you do not think to buy the Qualia? I think would be very interesting to hear the Qualia + Manley 300B !!!

You are right!
Next time, man, I'd like to "present" better the Qualia to you with some example (CD) and then you will listen all what you have...

(What about the pics ???)

Best!
