He never said he built the amp. It's a ******* amp.

Damned. Nik, I almost spoiled.

OK, our next meet will be in your neighbourhood.
You live in the Toscana somewhere, don’t you?

The problem with you Nik is that every new gear you have is better than the previous one, especially if the price is higher...kinda odd, no?

I think we need more opinion.

Let's not start flame wars. Those who've been on this site for some time know your stance regarding your Manley amp and custom made Cardas. Whenever a thread appears denoting some "limitations" of the 650s you find it necessary to "imply" the need for the greatest amp in the world (Manley) and the custom cabling (Cardas). Unless a person has both, they're not capable of making a valid judgement about the HD650s...

Talk is cheap.

Why don't you go get a pair of Qualia 010's and a find a synergistic amp for a head to head comparison?

Otherwise how the hell can you even know?

The old, "I have a valid opinion about a product which I've never heard before."

Or to the next level, long term comparisons to get over the "new gear honeymoon" effect.

BTW, where are those pics, Nik?

We're starting to think you are joking about owning the Qualis 010's.

About the pics...

I have a very low quality digital camera, Rudi has a good one, so I wait the R010, when will be ready I'll post the best pics we have of the "Qualia system"... be patience please...

About the Qualia:

Another consideration about the Qualia: even the same transparence that the Omega has... I confirm my first impression telling that this headphone is the most "electrostatic" between all the dynamic cans, as the Omega is the most "dynamic" between the electrostatics...

Best!

Well hopefully it is true, and perhaps Sony has even changed the landscape of dynamic headphones altogether with this new model. Now when that trickle-down effect starts...

As far as "Sony detractors" I think most people acknowledge that Sony has the capability to make great products, and they do on occation with some of their more costly models (R10, Q010, CD3K ), but they also make a lot of overpriced junk. To take it any futher than that would be silly.

sony is to customer service as airplane is to side street.

Hi,

I never said HD-650 is better than Qualia!! How could i said that? i'm not dumb enough, thanks.

I said HD-650 already share some electrostat quality like details and extreme transparency. This is even more true with the Cardas Neutral Ref. headphone cable. Try it for yourself! but change your source first

I have. And the HD650's have a definite veil compared to the Omega II's. The bass for the HD650 is fantastic, but the speed and dynamics are not quite there yet.

Not to mention the need for crossfeed for the HD650's. Better than the HD600's, but still too much left/right channel separation. Imaging suffers as a result.

But enough of the HD650's, I want to hear and see more about the Qualia 010.

LOL, spent so much on Headphone gear, so little left for anything else? Heheh, well, I guess you have to have your priorities.

No you don't. I told you try the Cardas NR headphone cable and of course with a $10,000 set up minimum, or at least with a real high end source! (assuming you've tried it with your RME)

Ok sorry Nik to hijack your thread, i'll shut up

Have a nice sunday!
