Symptoms of impedance mismatch between headphone and amp ?

Apart from serious case of distortion, is there any other symptoms of impedance mismatch between headphone and headphone amp ? (if there is such thing?)

The one that I am afraid is, say its actually a mismatch, but then it still sound AOK and no sign of distortion, but then, can it be possible that the mismatch cause something like a decrease in details, or soundstage (but no audible distort - only sound quality drops)?

If what i mentioned is possible, that will be the one that I am afraid of, the silent killer..
How to detect these and find out whether your amp actually match your headphone ?

Ok, here's one:

If the output impedance of the headphone output is too high (as it often is in integrated amplifiers and the like), it may cause some serious frequency response aberrations (boomy and uncontrolled bass, for instance). See the excellent 'tips and tricks' section on Meier Audio's website.

AFAIK, some phones are more sensitive to this than others.

L.
