Hey Mike.  Which pads do you prefer on the DT 1990?

IMHO, the newer Beyer's (T1 2G, T5p 2G, DT 1770) are a little too mellow for my taste.  It looks like the Amiron Home will be probably be voiced similarly.

Hope so personally, I love mellow sounding headphones, the T90 are fine with a proper and appropriate amp and I do enjoy them very much asides the still potentially murderous treble. Not tried the T1G2/others you mentioned so can't voice my opinion there unfortunately.

Agreed on the cloth, looks fine on the Jubilees though but still, rather this new look - reminds me of a more modern/less steampunk version of the Vali by Kennerton.

I too hope these sound like the DT1990 Pro which I heard recently and loved. I was going to pick up a pair of my own next week but now this comes out and now I have to wait another month or two to find out if these are any better. The only thing I didn't like about the DT1990 was the lack of a balanced cable option but this solves that problem. Please Bayer, just make the Amiron a DT1990 with an optional balanced cable. Don't change the tuning one bit (unless of course you can make it sound better with a tad more bass impact and no treble spike por favor.)

Woo excited. Not a fan of t90...hopefully things get better here. But the design is very meh.

The design is very Beyerdynamic. IMO, if it ain't broke...

Maybe this will be the more "fun" version of the DT-1990... a less neutral and slightly more v-shape sound signature. Then again, maybe not. Beyer does tout them as "warm" and "concert hall or jazz club" headphones, which suggests a more mid-forward sound to me, perhaps with plenty of treble for added detail

And using the term "Bass precision" does not exactly make them sound like they'll be slammin'

Biggest surprise to me was the name. So Beyer is moving away from its traditional numbering of models? This could get confusing, fast!

Hopefully, only some models will get named (probably only the more expensive models)

It does mean that we can give them nicknames like Schiit multibit DACs, though, which might be kind of cool, but it's only helpful when they have product names like "Yggdrasil" or "Bifrost Multibit"

I guess we could start calling the T1 "Terminator"

What does "Amiron" even mean?! I look at that and see "Am I On?"

google search shows its a drug for serious antibacterial infections.

Also, it can mean iron pigments... LOL Beyer needs better naming...

I'm fairly certain it means tinnitus in German.

I contacted Beyer regarding the tuning differences between the DT1990 and the Amiron. Hopefully they get back to me but it might be too early for them to release info on them. Fingers crossed. If these sound the same as the DT1990's then they will be my next headphone purchase for sure.

Yep, the scary treble has been dealt with, it seems. beyerdynamic started paying respect for consensus.

Again why smallcase 'h' in "Amiron home"?! beyerdynamic, OK, it's the old policy. home, too?! Strange name, strange random lowercase. Numbers make more sense. A combination of alphabets and numbers within 3-4 letters might've been sweet. Again, beyerdynamic Byron BT? Byron who?! Please give us our numbers back.

While I hope that's true, I'm sure you won't blame me for disbelieving until I hear it.

If it is true, it is a massive change to their house sound. Rare for an OEM to make such a big change.
