Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

I just got back from testing these again, this time in a different store. Man, the sealing really needs to be a perfect fit or else both of them turn into a sparkly mess. I wasn't able to get a good seal with the demo tips and they were just plain hard to listen to. The wider soundstage compared to my W60s is nice, but they're really really sensitive to fit, or else any fullness they can produce just leaks out and vanishes.

With the isines, if you are searching for a super tight seal, like you would for traditional sound isolating iems you are doing it wrong. The more isolating you try to make them, the worse and more bass light they are going to sound. audeze is pretty clear on this in their manuals (reason why they discourage folks from using foam tips with them). Since these are open iems, you really just want enough tip on there to hold them in place. I usually use large size tips. With my iSine 20s, I get the best performance when I use the small supplied tips.

Bottom line: you basically need to unlearn all the traditional iem mantras around getting a super tight seal for good bass. If that is what you try to do with the isines, you are going to get a poorer bass response.

As for dragonfly red, I've tried my isines with my dfr, mojo, ha-2, and the new cozoy REI. While I generally think very highly of my dragonfly, I haven't found it to be the best match with the isines, especially if you are looking for bass. The isines sound much better out of the dfr than straight out of my iPhone, but I Think they pair better with the other three dac/amps.

yeah, ya'll seem to be trying too hard with the seal.  As i've explained from my own experience, knowing that everyone is going to be different, I can get good sound using all 3 of the tip sizes.  They each insert at their own depth relative to how they fit my ears, but beyond that I really have to go out of my way not to get optimum sound with any of the tips. I really only chose the mediums based on comfort. Further,  I'm coming from using customs exclusively for years, which absolutely require a perfect seal, so if anything i'm used to being extra picky about it.  If anything might be a factor it could be that I use the ear clips which keep them in place really well regardless of tip size.

Just an FYI for everyone, I had not contacted audeze about my cable plug fit issue since i just wasn't in the mood, and my paper bits solution worked well enough, but they saw my post and reached out to me privately. They are being very helpful and accommodating in offering to resolve the issue.  I wouldn't expect any different from audeze, but it's good to be reminded and worth sharing with the group.

wow, good to know!  audeze CARES about their customer experience!

but my own conclusion about the difference between isine 10 and 20 remains.

10 more for prolonged more comfortable listening.

for 20.  didn't have the chance to do prolonged listening, but i guess could be pretty fatiguing if listen to it for long term.

if not using foam tips, how to hold it proper in place please?

it's difficult to find tips anyway since the tube is so thick.

would love to find tip with filter so that ear wax won't drop into the tube.

I thought about this too. I just calibrated my 1More Quad Driver's tips for traditional IEM canal fit and man, what a difference the right pair makes. I think the best way to find the right fit combo is trying them out for extended periods each fit. The sound differences are often subtle and really noticed over a few songs rather than quickly.

Also, I think the Earlocks make sense to apply sealing pressure here. Probably mixed with tips that are too big to go too deep into the ear. Then play with different fits for sound. Well, it makes sense to me in theory. I'll try that out when my set arrives Wednesday.

hey, if you find any good alternative, please do let us know where/how to get them cheap.

tried to fit comply on the new toy.  doesn't fi!

would love to have something with filter, seeing ear wax inside the tube is bit gross!

i got to add my experience dealing with audeze as well.  my own experience is they care about their customers, and the people i was writing to did quite bit of research before dealing with my query.

ie, they are not run-out-of-mill answers.

just hope that audeze won't fall to the trap of some very good companies of being acquired by private equity, just focusing on margin and forgetting about products and customers.  say, akg, i was an akg fan boy.  or altec lansing.

another good experience dealing with was uk company chord.

would be great if audeze let us know what's the diameter of the tube for replacement eartips please?  or someone kind enough to measure it for us.

quite a shame that using non-stock pads for my sine and non-stock tips on the isine.

hope that audeze could deliver the last ile experience better.  :p

Hi I also bought isine 20 and more than happy, bass is big mids are nice and sparkle is detailed. Very nice, I got it at a nice discount here in japan for 41560 yen which is about 300 usd, a nice deal, it was a display model and the shop was moving and wanted to sell some iems. Very good deal, lightning cable wasn't included which is why it was cheaper probably. My other iems shure kse1500 are a lot better this is nice iem though for travel etc, don't mind sound leak. It ads to imersiveneass like you are in concert with better system for acoustics. Nice iems for money, cheers, nice forum

Happy with my pairing of iSine20 with Onkyo Granbeat. Have been on spotify for my daily commute for I was too lazy to download lossless source files.
Tried spiral dot with iSine20 but switched back to stock tips as the former pairing lacked both bass and treble extension, and also compressed the soundstage beyond my liking. I simply tuned up the volume in busy environment to compensate for the lack of noise isolation.
Just sharing my view on stock tips=)

Per the owners manual or FAQ on isines (can't remember which) the isines will fit tips for 7mm bore iems
