Power cord question

This is probably a silly question but, are all power cords the same? I assume they all comply with some wiring standard and all devices that have removable power cords all have the same plug/jack wiring? Basically I bought a Zu Birth cord for my Rotel and I want to be sure before plugging it in!

As long as they are the same country's electrical standard, then yes. Even then, other countries will often have a different shape so that you cannot use the wrong component.

If you are really paranoid you can check for proper connections and shorts with a continuity checker like one in a Multimeter.
