LG V20 Sound Quality

If the (experimental) options are there, assuming the V20's (like the V10) special hardware is recognized, be sure to enable Hi-Res audio output, set it to 100 steps of volume control, and try switching DVC on/off while playing music to hear the difference. I use OpenGL ES (instead of Java) for output.

Hi-Res output only has options for wired headset/aux and USB DAC. Enabling those disables the same options on OpenSL ES output. Working as intended? Also, what's the difference between AudioTrack output and OpenSL ES output?

I also bought a connector that I keep connected to the Audeze Sine hopefully will one day not need it.

What adapter are you using? I'm thinking I might need something as well, as I have the EL8-O, Philips SHP9500, Heir Audio 4.a, M6 Pro, Klipsch S4, and TH-X00.... which are all low impedance cans.

I am sure there are plenty of others.

So just a regular extension adapter is enough? I have an extension because the case on my Z3v is recessed too much for my typical headphone plugs. I'll try that first before getting something else. I've been eyeing the following case though..
VRS Design.

I saw that case as well with the kickstand? I went with the Ringke because I received a Slick Deals coupon for 3.99 and I had one of their cases for the Note 7 and I liked it.

Here is the link to the Verizon LG B&O headphone promotion.  You can start redeeming on October 26.  You need the IMEI number to redeem (or so I was told).

LG's B&O Play H3 Offer Page

Redemption is open for Verizon customers.  My promotion redemption is processing, free headphones coming (though from reviews the B&O H3's are just average).

How is the battery life on the v20.  Compared to the say...the LG G5 with hifi DAC?  Or the HTC 10 or the Samsung S7 or the Nexus 6P?  Just want to be able to gauge it to the other phones.  The HTC 10 has great battery life.  It would nice if the v20 lasted longer the the LG G5....that was pretty bad when listening to music.

Finally handed in my Note 7 and picked up my V20 on Monday, great sound.
I'm was using my Mojo with the N7, now the Mojo and V20 are at odds.

Anyone using the Mojo with V20?

The Alpha's software processing is definitely underrated. I'm not the one to explain why but it sounds better than any other music app on my devices.

If you thought PA already sounded great, those tweaks might make you forgot all about any daps you may have laying around.

I don't see an option to change the volume steps.  I am looking under the sound settings in system settings, is that the right place?

The option is only for Poweramp Alpha, not the system settings for the phone

Bad news for potential European buyers I'm afraid.  I've just received the email below from Clove.  I'm very disappointed but impressed with Clove's communication and appreciate the position they have taken:

Thank you for registering your interest in the LG V20.

We are contacting you today to let you know that despite our best efforts we will not be selling the LG V20.

Soon after launch, LG confirmed it would not be coming to the UK. We have since been working to source a UK compatible device that can be backed up with warranty support over the life of the handset.

Our intentions were to import the V20 from Europe, like we did with the V10 where supply and support networks existed.

Whilst interest and demand has been high, particularly since the Samsung Note 7 recall; LG have confirmed that they are not launching the V20 in Europe and are not planning to reconsider this in light of the recent surge in demand.

Although the V20 has been launched in other regions of the world and whilst we can potentially source from these areas, we are not prepared to do so at the risk of supply, network compatibility and after sales support.

As smartphone users ourselves we see the appeal of the V20 and have clearly stated just how many customers have expressed interest in the handset (it is one of our most requested, ever). Having presented this information to LG in addition to a commitment to a volume of handsets, LG remain firm that they wish not at this time to launch the V20 in Europe.

As such you may wish to consider your options. There are a great range of handsets available SIM free from www.clove.co.uk.

The Clove Technology Sales Team.
