XR-2 phono stage

Can the XR-2 be had as a battery powered model? I have the battery XP-7 and am looking to upgrade my phono stage (funny how this happens), but can't quite afford the XR-2 as is.

HI Peter in Seattle,

The phono stage operates off of one of Rays fine power supplies and not on batteries. I feel the XR-2 is the best product Ray builds and sits proudly in my vinyl rig. It is well worth saving and waiting for it!!!

input impedance setting?

Hey Todd,
I haven't installed my XR-2 into the rig yet cuz I'm still waiting for my cartridge to come back.
I understand that there is a (micro?) switch for matching the input impedance to your cartridge.
Where is it, how do I adjust it and what do I want to set it to for my Reference Platinum.
Looking on Grado's site I'm guessing 47k?
Thx,
Lewis

I have the XR-2 and raised the question with Ray on how to change the settings, below is his response:

The table of impedance & gain is silk screened on the PC Brd, Please unscrew the two top philips screws ONLY from the rear panel, unscrew the two top allen screws ONLY from the front panel, & the top shell will come off.

Cool. Thx for responding. Will I need anything special (tiny screwdriver?) to change the setting when I get in there?

You will be flipping tiny DIP switches once you are inside. A small screwdriver or wooden stick work fine.
