Mr. Speakers Ether Flow Impressions and Discussion

I always prefer to get the cable as 4 pin balanced and then use an adapter when needed. I do most of my listening balanced.

Have you tried the ETHER FLOW with the draug2?

how does it compare to the dum cable set-up? and in what ways?

I'm in need to buy an XLR cable and got tempted to buy the draug 2 to complete my set up. thx

Waiting for Draug 2 shipping notice for Ether Flow now.

ooo, I though you have it already when I saw your profile.

I also didn't care for the DUM cabe, it was just to stiff...

I ended up getting a Norne Vanquish cable and love it.

yeah, the cable is a bit too un-manageable for my taste.
How do the vanquish perform sonically?

I personally don't believe that cables make a sonic difference, so long as they are soldered right... So IMHO they pretty much sound identical as the DUM cable but more manageable.

I have the Draug2 for the hd800 already but not for Ether...yet.

Draug2 has more "meat on the bone," more richness. The Vanquish is a bit more transparent and offers better detail. iirc

thx Matt,

I listen to metal the most, so I think the draug is probably better, but it is more expensive and not too mention the painful wait T_T.

It's been a rough wait. I was hooked on them after the first day and then a few days later I had to give them back up to Dan. I am very glad to have them in the house.

A few things about unboxing and first impressions.

*the box and packing have got a nice upgrade and look quite slick and professional now, befitting a totl flagship product

*the DUM cable is no longer KINKY!!  YES!!!  This is now a very usable and well behaved cable (thanks for this Dan).

*even with no "burn in" these impress right out of the box. I guess it's been about a month since I had flow in house. Man did I miss them.

Did you snap any pics of the unboxing? Interested to see what the new out of box experience is like.
