2.0 System?

Hello all, not the most approiate place to post, but of all the forums I visit I thought this would be the best place to get an answer.

I have a great system at home, but I am moving into a grad. dorm at college, and like most it has a 24-hour quiet policy. Because of this, my usual system is going to stay at home, and I'm looking for a decent 2.0 system to take with me that I can attach to my computer. Thanks to other expenses my total budget is only around $100, but since I'm mainly using the speakers to watch TV audio fidelity isn't as important as for music, and I always have my Grado's for when I want to crank it up Anyways, can someone point me in the right direction?

Fingers crossed, you'll have more luck here...

Good luck!

if you already have grados, it looks like you just need a nice soundcard and maybe an amp. people here have recommended the chaintech soundcard for $25 (i haven't personally used it) and the extra $75 can get you something nice like a Go-Vibe to plug into it to go to your grados. That should suit your computing needs just fine!

For $150 you can get M-Audio DX4 powered monitors, but I don't have any idea how they sound. If they're similar to the BX5 they'll be a bit light in the bass department but sound very clean and good otherwise. I just got BX8's and I love them!!!
