5" mini to mini from JMT audio.

Had a mini to mini made by Jon (JMT audio) for my ipod and xin superdual. Wanted a quality cable without all the slack and with good looks. Well not only does this mini sound awesome..it fits and looks perfect for what I needed. Jon was a great guy to deal with and got my cable finished and shipped very quickly. For anyone considering a mini to mini for your portable setup..I will try to post pics here..but if they don't come out anyone interested can pm me with your email address and I will send them to you. Just wanted to share a product with anyone else here who might be interested...thanks for reading...

For those on a budget, Headsave is selling a 6" mini-to-mini for $6 that I'm sure is not as high quality as the one from JMT. But it is short for those looking to similarly eliminate the slack. http://www.headsave.com/cables.html

I need a 6' mini-mini cable. I think I have a really Uber-crappy Radio shack one, but where can I get a better one? Oh yeah, and keep it cheap. I honestly can't understand how people can pay $30 for a 6" cable that doesn't even have gold connectors.

Is that the one made with Homegrown audio silver cable? I emailed recently, as well as sent him a PM sometime back and have never got a response from him. Anyone know if he handles inquiries or if he only responds to orders?

Because gold connectors are vital for good sound

No, they're necessary if you want your cable to last for more than a year, heavily used.

Anyone got any reccommendations or not?

Not for a 6' mini to mini, but you can get a 6" mini to mini with gold connectors for less than $30 here.

No, I need a 6'. I need to go from the back of my computer to my desk. Unless you have adaptor reccommendations.

email Norm at Headsave, I'm sure he'd help you out on this front. Btw, the Switchcraft jacks that JMT uses are absolutely bullet proof, used in professional audio applications. Gold plating doesn't mean anything in terms on how long the cable will last, Au plating only serves to prevent oxidation which is only really a problem in static interconnects. Most jack plugs are Nickel with the gold plating being only 25microns or so thick. When you use a mini-mini in a portable rig you're likely to unplugging and reconnecting often, so the oxidation is removed in these operations...

Well, the oxidation is still there... I've had some plugs sit around and get really cruddy-looking. No kidding. Anyway, I'll contact norm, thanks for the suggestion!

i really like jon's rca-mini cable, was going to get a mini-mini cable but i'll wait a while(getting into college)

i don't know about norms cables but you will be very happy with jmts, it's also really flexible too, ofcourse looks very handsome

I recently received a mini to mini cable from JMT and it is fantastic. It was my first cable upgrade and the clarity and quality difference from my cheap Radio Shack cable was immediately apparent. I would highly recommend it.
