Focal NA was by far, a more pleasant experience than when I had to interact with Focal France (primarily due to language barrier), and Focal Philippines (does not care for headphones that are not being sold in their market).

Thanks, that's what I thought I would need to make sure the Singapore Focal vendor would provide unconditional warranty support even if I am already outside Singapore. It would have been more convenient if warranty is international and I can go to the local Focal distributors at Philippines or Indonesia for assistance, especially given this headphone is nowhere available in these countries. Maybe I should just wait until the local Focal shops start to carry these in a few months as they are currently in queue for stocks so not really their fault.

Gotta agree...I tried the Moon Black Dragon and WANTED to love it, but I couldn't hear enough of a difference to justify the cost, so it went back.

Hmm I've been wondering what balanced aftermarket cable to buy that won't break the bank.  Any ideas?

Well I bought a balanced cable from a seller on eBay (LQi Cables) for $200. I just wanted something cheap that was balanced.

Hi,
Tried a vinyl setup last night through my Utopia for the first time. Sound was absolutely amazing. Sound was organic and dynamic, even sound better than 2 channel setup downstair.

Focal states there were some driver issues here:

Following the recent questions about drivers issues, I would like to precise that they came from new production on a limited number of headphones.

Focal has personally taken on all concerned customers' headphones. These issues are no longer topical.

Be sure, that we still pay close attention to our products quality and there is no other issue on Utopia and Elear manufacturing.

Thanks to the recent poster who gave the spec of the Lemo connectors.Got a pair from local distributor and changed my old Audeze connection on my Silver Dragon. Ten minutes work and saved myself 500 dollars and having to ship to UK.

Mind you should I have used silver solder rather than lead. Still they work great with my AK380 and mojo and much more portable.

How does the Utopia sound with the Silver Dragon?

After declaring my MDR-Z7 a lost cause, I now have a perfectly good Silver Dragon just lying around waiting to be re-terminated and put to a noble cause.

Absolutely brilliant! Now to temper your expectations...cables don't make a big difference and I strongly suggest you look to your amp/DAC/source long before you consider a cable upgrade. I picked up my Silver Dragon for my Utopias directly from Drew at RMAF this past October. I needed a balanced termination for my GS-X MK2 and this was my #1 choice...glad I did!

Thanks.

I was planning on keeping the BPD-105 and HA-1 but maybe spend forty bucks or so on the connectors for the Silver Dragon. I always try to keep my expectations low to reduce the level disappointment in life.

I am a big fan of the Silver Dragon. The standard Utopia cable is just fine in my opinion but somewhat unwieldy for me.

However I just love the Silver Dragon with the Utopia. I love the detail it gives and find it an excellent match.

My advice is go for it. The connectors cost around 30 pounds for a pair so why waste such a great cable.
