well after a good 9 months of not wanting to get into speakers I gave up and started to clean my room...lol

I didnt want to clean my room to free up the space cause I knew I would buy speakers after that. well I started earlier this week by cleaning and I should be done by next month...lol

I bought some used NORH 6.6's off audiogon, the guy is in chicago and will deliver them to me on friday...oh noooooooo

after the room is done I will probably buy a cheapo tube amp to, probably a jolida 202 or something.

I am not done with headphones yet though, but after getting the hr-2 I am so happy I need to move on to speakers for the time being, thanx ray!...lol

infact I am thinking of using the hr-2 as a preamp for the speaker setup to

any help from you headphone guys??

oh what have I done....lol

Billy,

Congrats on the speakers! You're welcome to try out any of my speaker gear. A nice speaker system is much more fun than any headphone setup I've heard.

A Prehead can serve as a preamp. An HR-2 can't.

Congrats on intering the real world. nOrh also makes a bunch of affordable amps that might go well with your new speakers.

Cool, Norh makes pretty enjoyable speakers. I'm happy w/ my 4.0s in the HT system. Hope you enjoy your 6.6s just as much.

Cool, I have some SM-5.1 that I use in a office/study system. For the money there pretty good speakers but I wouldn't want to drop them on my foot. They weigh about 30 pounds each.

congrats on your purchase, I think it was a good move. I know it goes against the grain here, but I much prefer speaker listening to headphones.

Enjoy the rig, I was considering norhs myself once.

You gotta post a review or impressions thread when you get them set up and evaluated!

Gopher, I never read a full blown impressions thread from you either

Ditto. As long as the speakers are good.

Yeah I am getting sick of the wearing headphones 24/7...lol

I never heard the norh 6.6's but I am not to much of a speaker believer niether..anyone can offer advice on these???

I need a cheap tube amp now, any suggestions?

I think you'll get hooked. Though the norhs probably aren't the best speakers on this planet, if they do that speaker imaging magic, I think you'll have to agree that they're at the very least a very very very good alternative to headphones.

I picked up a jvc digital receiver for not a whole lot of money to amp my speakers (replacing a semi dual mono 150wpc power amp and tube pre) and am satisfied. I'm going to try to live with this setup for a while until I get significantly more money, and luckily, it doesn't sound like it will be too hard to do.
