Panasonic SL-CT570 power questions

What is the power consumption of this player? I would guess around 500mA? (2.3W / 4.5V) So 1000mA seems right when recharging the AAA batteries (which I'm not gonna use, or should I just replace those with higher capacity NiMH AAA's?) that come with the player (5.0W / 4.5V). Or am I way off? Lol.

I'll probably get the RadioShack 4.5V 1000mA AC Adapter if it is indeed regulated (otherwise I'll get the 700mA filtered & regulated version), but which adaptaplug would I use for it?

What is the polarity of the unit? The manual reads this: - • + (negative, jack, positive) DC IN 4.5V. I assume it's negative.

Anyone? I know there are a lot of 570 owners here...

Well, I've got the european SL-CT570A, but maybe that helps: The original unit is rated as 6 W input, 600 mA @ 4.5 V regulated output - inner contact (about 1,2 mm) is positive, outer contact (around 4 mm) is negative.

Greetings from Munich!
