Any of you guys have the XDP-100R paired with Sennheiser HD650? I find myself listening to FLAC at volume level of around 155-160 with the gain setting at "High". I would love to have a higher headroom when it comes volume control. Thanks

Anyone compared these directly to the FiiO X5 ii gen? I can see similar prices in my Country now. Is it better, I won't use an amp with it. Seeing the specs at 32 ohms it can deliver only < 100 mw which is quite low compared to any FiiO. So it is a bad idea to use it with a Beoplay H6 directly? I am already sold on its looks!

Has anyone done an SQ comparison of the XDP-100R to a phone with the Dragonfly Red?  Just curious if Tidal or other music sounds same, better, or worse compared to a phone with the Red.  Thanks.

I have a Pioneer XDP-100R-K that I bought about 5 months ago. It worked magnificently until tonight, when I discovered that it wouldn't charge. The battery icon didn't appear on the screen as it usually does (to show that it's charging), and the player will not turn on at all (whether it's plugged in or not). Is it possible to do any kind of troubleshooting, or will I have to send it to Pioneer for service? I would be really grateful for any advice you folks can provide.

My apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum.

Gapless playback?

Just got one and it sounds very nice though a bit chunky. I have a question: how do people find the gapless playback? Mine plays back gapless between "tracks". The transitions between tracks sound a bit strange to me - it seems that there is some overlap between the previous track and the next one. I listen to mainly classical music and this can sound very strange. Any suggestions?

This can happen with many Android devices.

Let the player sit for about a week until the battery becomes fully discharged.

Once the player is truly "dead", it will reboot itself when connected again to it's charger.

Has the issue below been addressed yet??

Mac users beware… for now

The Pioneer XDP-100R was the only player in our roundup that doesn’t show up as an external disk for drag-and-drop file transfers. Instead, you must use the company’s X-DAP Link software to transfer files. The software is great and allows you to synchronize folders on a Windows PC, but I ran into a problem: There’s no version of the software for the Mac.

Well, what about microSD cards? That should be OK, right? Not so fast! If you’re dragging and dropping files from a Mac onto a microSD card, the default Music app will display every single file on the microSD card—even hidden system files that the Mac writes to the card, such as the Apple Spotlight indexes.

Sorry for pushing this thread up, but I would like to know if there's anyway to make this player as an USB DAC? Also if there is a way to prevent player from displaying Mojibake instead of collect words? Thanks a lot !
