Shozy Zero IEMs

hey, have anyone of you compare this Shozy Zero with Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear before?

Not side by side and not on the same time, but I did tried Momentum In-Ear sometime ago, and honestly I have bad impression on it. What annoys me most is the tonality of the Momentum that to me is too colored. Some annoying peaks and dips. For me personally between the two, I would pick Zero for having smoother and more pleasant tonality. Just personal preference

Hi, I have not actively compared the two per se. I am also relatively new to the audiophile world and may not describe things properly, so you may take this with a grain of salt.

The Shozy seems very source dependent, sounds good with the work PC. I can't stand using them with my phone, however, the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The Sennheiser Momentum is a little of the inverse.

They are both warm sounding with the Momentums almost downright hot. The bass quality is better to me on the Momentums, but I like the Shozy bass level more. They have a nice little thump to them. The Shozy has a more forward midrange than the Momentums, which I really like. I also think the Shozy presents more detail than the Momentum. The downside of the Shozy is the treble for me, but even still it is not bad at all.

Funny thing to me is that the Momentums are recommended for hip hop and electronic music because of that bass, but I enjoy the Shozy more for those.

Overall, I think the Momentums have a more fun sound to them, but I am accustomed to the more analytical and vocal-centric Audio Technica house sound. That leads me to put the Momentums away after a few hours of listening.

thank you so much for that. I tried the momentum in-ear with my iphone 6 at Jaben, the Stereo, and the bass that not outperform the vocal or other instruments that wow me after tried a few so so IEM that boom me very hard. Short play anyway.

After reading all the review, seems like this Zero is very source dependent. Working with laptop should not have any concern, what about iphone 6?

I think i read that after burn in Zero, the bass become heavier, nice to have it with piano pieces?

I like those earphone that presented the music pieces like u are in a concert, piano performances and so. That kind like u would start moving ur fingers with every notes played. Can Zero make it? I think clarity play the major role.

IMHO, Zero is not the best IEM for piano or live concert style of music. I prefer more clarity and transparency for that.

Go to LMUE try AD01 using foam eartips. At this price point that AD01 is more suitable for that. Or if you could get the old LZ A2. Not the new A2s.

some source will have significantly more synergy (and clarity) say sony pcm d50 recorder or some current output devices say qpr1. Try testing the zero on higher end gears, that's where it would shine

I agree. I tend to go for neutral with a mid-bass lean for concert and classical. The Accutone Pavo is decent for $50 if that's what you are listening to.

I think sometimes it isn't even the question of low end or high end gear. There are just some pairings depending on the output impedance of the device thats powering the Zero that makes them sound better or worse in a specefic setup. For example I think that out of my desktop setup (not high end by any means) they sound good and they are able to maintain that when getting powered out of a phone, which is an achievement by itself.

yes exactly, it's not about price but the design (but there are tendency a certain price tier will sound in a certain way...)

Agree it is not about low end or high end, but matching!
I honestly prefer Zero to be driven from my cheaper USB DAC Geek Out 450 than my more expensive DAP Onkyo DP-X1. Simply about matching. Very often it is not about the price, not about low-end or high-end, but simply a matter of matching.

Yeah, definitely. Matches with my HTC One M8 very well, but hates my Sound Blaster E3 and LG G3.

I just ordered the Zero. Really interested in hearing its signature. Now the waiting. I will post some impressions once I get it. Will pair it with my new-to-me Shanling M2, the Plenue D and Dx80.
