That I don't know - not heard the Hugo. Personally, although it's marketed as such, I don't regard the Hugo as a 'portable' device - I certainly wouldn't want to be lugging it about whilst on-the-go - & given the Hugo's 'only' a dac/amp requiring the addition of a source, I have trouble thinking of it vs QP1R as a like-for-like comparison.

FWIW, I tried the Mojo (with an iPhone 6s), but it wasn't for me - & it only altered, rather than improved, things when paired with the QP1R.

I do carry the Hugo three hrs commuting in Hong Kong. Using Hugo with a phone. Phone has a big screen I can view while jumping onto trains and buses.

Sure, I realise people do, but that's just not for me.

By all means, if you don't mind the bulk, or the cost, the Hugo is the way to go. I doubt any standalone DAP will ever beat it.

I do mind the bulk, though. So for me, a DAP must be good enough to stand on its own without sounding as though its lacking in any area. For instance, only when I do a direct comparison with the NFB-28 does my AK120ii feel small or in any way inadequate. Yet, when I'm at work, there's nothing about its presentation that disappoints. It's smooth, faultless, and oh so musical.

I couldn't say that about the FiiO X5. Though it is a great sounding device, you can hear its limitations. The soundstage could be grander, and the rendering more refined. One does not need to compare it to a full-size DAC to perceive its faults.

This is why I still haven't upgraded from the Astell&Kern. It satiates my critical ears.

thank you

Probably with Galaxy V1, but even then very fleetingly. V2 has a gentler, shimmery treble that reveals enough detail and isn't harsh. It's more forgiving than V1 and is a great match with QP1R.

thank for your reply EZ,  So  the Solar or the Galaxy V2 should suit me better then

I had all but sworn off iems with mmcx connectors, but thank god for adapters! Or, thank Sammy, since he actually made them. Where have these things been all my life??

Just received a pair of 2-pin to mmcx connectors. They're small, easy to use, and even have the fancy CF design RSD has been using as motif.

Something came in the mail today. Thanks Sammy for the great service and fast shipping!

Initial " out of the box" impressions : seems to be almost softer and more support than the 4 braid DK, which is quite a feat when you consider this is an 8 braid. Tight, but not overly tight weave, and the same overall excellent construction I've come to expect with rhapaodio cables ( this is my 4th).

Dark Knight is one of my favorite cables from Rhapsodio, ergonomic and great sound... I hope Sammy will get the 4.4 plugs in stock soon so I can get a Dark Knight for my incoming Sony WM1A :)

Nice man, DK is a great cable especially considering the price. Can you post another pic of the cable laid out later on? Would like to see more of it as 8-braid!

Sure Nic, anything you'd like to see in particular?

And I agree, the DK is a VERY underrated cable, especially considering the price!
