Wanted To Trade: LCD XC FOR MY TH-900

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Looking to potentially trade my TH900 + some cash for the LCD XC. (NOT X AS midnightwalker has helped me determine).

Im also interested in trading with the xc for maybe 2-3 weeks just to try them out rather than buy. If you've got one of them and want to try the th900 for a little while, we can arrange a temporary swap, which would be really nice for me.

Message me if interested!

No... that's the Pro 900, which I already have.

I'm looking for their Edition 9 and to trade it for my Fostex TH900's.

Ahh, ok.

FYI - The sounds of TH900 and LCD-X are very different. If you like TH900, you don't like the X and vice versa. The XC is a bit closer to the TH900.

Can you explain difference - how so? I could use some input.

And in many reviews, people say the xc are really similar to the x except for the highs, potentially.

- XC obviously has more bass, warmer and smoother than X.

- X has bigger sound stage, more neutral and flatter compare to XC.

My POV - YMMV:

- X is the most boring headphone in LCD line-ups. If you want neutral/flat sounding headphone, pick the HD800 instead.

- My ranking for LCD line-ups: LCD-3 non Fazor (with amp) > LCD-XC >~ LCD-3 Fazor > LCD-2 Fazor > LCD-2 - non Fazor >~ LCD-X

And where do you slide the TH900? Im thinking it's brighter/more sparkle and bigger sub bass?

TH900 seems to specialize in the low end extension and the high end extension.

Probably the mids is the main difference?

Thanks for the input...

TH900 has better sub-bass especially when you recable with silver dragon v3 and easier to drive. I prefer the mid-range of LCD-3 classic, when it pairs to proper amp, to the TH900 recabled.  For couple hours session, i would chose the TH900 over the LCD series but if you only listen in short time and have proper amp, you may also try the LCD-3 classic which is pretty much on the same price with XC/X series.

The TH900 is v-shape headphone. LCD-3 classic is a bit emphasize on bass and mid. As the result, TH900 is brighter and more sparkle in treble region.

Maybe I am better off keeping my TH900's instead...

One more q - would you say the xc (or x but less likely) has more mid bass punch or slam, than the TH900?

TH900 goes very low (subwoofer like) but I'm specifically wondering about the impact or slam in the mid-bass area. For example, my Ultrasones punch a lot more, which I enjoy as an EDM listener. I do enjoy the contrast with the TH900 deep sub bass though.

Reason I considered x or xc was because (like the TH900) I love the high sensitivity and ability to drive with anything. The LCD3 won't quite allow the same versatility, although I'm sure given the right setup, I might love the sound as well.

TH900 has more mid-bass than XC if I remember correctly. For EDM listers, I may also consider Ultrasone Signature Pro with is cheaper, easier to driver and you can enjoy it on-the-go.
