Hi there!

I have to say that I know nothing when it comes to earphones and portable headphones and as you guys helped me a lot when I was a Headphone newbie, I though I could try and seek your help once more to introduce myself into the world of portable earphone /headphone :p.

So, what am I looking for?

Type:
Earphones or verry verry portable headphone (no in-ear earphone please. It drives me crazy having these in ^^').

Price:
$50 CA or under.

Usage purpose:
Will mostly use it at job on break time to play 3DS or watch videos and such.

Transportation methods:
Not so tight jeans pockets, working pants pockets (you know, these soft tissue pants?), Winter coat pockets, rarely but still, messenger type bag for school, trips and such.

Kind of sound I am looking for:
Decent overall sound. I like bass, but I don't want to end up with so much bass that it kill the other sounds' -erh, how can I word that...- precision? I like to be able to distinguish sounds, basically.

If you could introduce me to what you consider being good brands so that I can do research on my own, I would be really grateful!

Thanks.

I've owned them in the past and I would own them again, the Koss KSC75-- cheap and good.

The KSC75 is really not earphones, but instead open compact headphones with ear hooks instead of a headband. It is only around $15(in the US). It has quite a bit of bass for open headphones, but not as much detail as the much more expensive Sennheiser PX100II compact folding headphones. I have owned the KSC75 for over 10 years, and owned the KSC35 and KSC50 as well. Imo the KSC75 sounds better than the other Koss earhook models as it has better treble.

Thank you for the answers. The KSC75 seems interesting, although I fear the tissue recovering it will get ripped off after a few days / weeks :X. The reasonning behind this is as following: I will either put it in my winter's coat pockets or in my pants' pockets. So yeah...

I've seen remplacement that will most likely last longer (the one that cover your ears) but it will only get the earphones bigger and even more of a pain in the ass to transport.

Replacement foam earpads for the KSC75 are easily available in the US. They are around $5 for three pairs. I don't know how easy they are to find in India. the foams are on rather tightly, and should last for a while.

How much ear bud replacement cost isn't a problem. All that matter here is the size and sound quality of the earphones. .

I'm still open for other brand / specific product if anyone have some in mind.
